What model of wood mission blades are those? All I can ever find online are the Ether PRT's.
-
Those definitely give mine a run for sure. And you're right mack, I own three Z-Bubbles and grabbed the wrong one without even noticing. The gloves definitely get the point across on their own however.

I was thinking he looked more like Steve-O from Jackass in that shot, but at the same time that felt like an insult which is not my intention.

The Payback design looks really familiar. Are they owned in part by someone else or anything? I know next to nothing about Fury hockey, but they look good all the same.

This may be more appropriate in "trashed equipment" thread, but a few of my friends got a kick out of how trashed some of my gear was, so I thought I'd share. Especially since I'm unable to get any pictures of my good equipment as we speak. Those Easton gloves served me well, and I still use them for roller occasionally. No pair of gloves I own are broken in as good as those, that's for sure.

Just added a couple One90 sticks, 2007's. Wasn't really looking for them, but I'll try anything. Hopefully I'll get to use them by next week.

at the drive in was not short-lived. you just didn't discover them until they became popular. btw, they're best band i've ever seen live They had a total 3 studio records. If they made them over 25 years they will still be short-lived based on overall output. And yes, they were also a good live band.

They are an excellent live band. I'm a snob in the sense that, when I see a concert, while most people prefer for it to "not sound like the record," I actually really do. As close as possible anyhow. The problem is that most kids go to SEE bands play, not to HEAR them, and it's the unnecessary showmanship part that makes most concerts relatively uninteresting to me. I really couldn't care less what you can play behind your back. Just play it. Again, I'm probably a snob for admitting that, but it's just the truth. You want to have fun at a concert yes, but there's something to be said about a band that can emulate what they've recorded, as I believe recording to also be an art all it's own. Most bands can not do this. Tool can. Jethro Tull and King Crimson can. Frank Zappa could. The Mars Volta can. Even Bad Religion can. For me, the better it sounds live, the more enjoyment I get out of it. That was my long and dull explanation of why I disagree with The Mars Volta being considered pretentious. If you just don't like them, hey, no one can hold it against you. I just don't think it makes them pretentious.
-
If you simply don't like The Mars Volta, fair enough. I'm not trying to argue or stick up for them, but what exactly do you find to be "pretentious"?
-
They didn't.

Sparta. Enough said. Also Jim Ward's EP. The short-lived At The Drive-In: Excellent.

I don't think I ever did this in full, I'll just list all the crap I have. Since I just play rec and pickup hockey I don't have a complete setup anyhow. I have a weird make up of equipment, some of it being old and still in good shape. I have an older HT2, and a 492 CCM helmet, along with an old Jofa, the model I can't remember. Looks a bit like the 690. TPS Bionic, Easton Air, and old Cooper gloves, again the model has wore off on these but they are some of the best gloves I've ever used. A couple Z-Bubbles, a couple V-Hex 2's, and about 6 old E-Flex's of varying age. I almost solely use Sher-Wood blades, and I have a Si-Core blade on one Z-Bubble. Graf 709's, and Graf G35's that I scored for free from a rich and stupid family member. I have the 709's now setup for roller. For the occasional time I play in full dress for ice or roller, I bought the set of cheap Sher-Wood 5030 trad. protective. It's small and light, my entire game is stickhandling and skating, I rarely even shoot or "mix it up" so to speak. I have a pair of Mission Wicked pants for roller.

Streetlight Manifesto's dummer is amazing. I'll still continue to recommend King Crimson even after they're dead and gone. Tool sounds a lot like early KC.

Dragonforce is boring. Satriani is a real guitarist. http://myspace.com/koffinkats

Picked up a Mission V-Hex 2 shaft finally over last weekend. Love it with a cheap-o Sher-Wood 950 or 5030 blade.

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
cxo replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
Should I have a problem putting a Redstar frame on Graf Ultra G3's? I don't think it would be an issue but also didn't think it would hurt to ask first. Those G35's turned out nicely.- 2845 replies
