Un-Written Rules of Hockey
Tailboard Jockey replied to DoublinUp's topic in General Hockey Discussions
Why can't you do it back? Isn't it drop-in? No referee. And, he's obviously trying to break your sticks. He continues to do it because you allow it to happen. There's no reason in the world to put up with that shit. I don't care how big the guy is...you have a stick, too. Give him some of his own medicine. -

I tried a 90/75 on my skates Saturday, and skated on them for 3 1/2 hours straight. I liked it alot better than the 100/75, but I'm going to try the 100/50 for my next sharpening. I prefer a little bit more bite, so I figure I might as well try out something in between the 100/75 and the 90/75. From looking at the FBV website, it seems to me that the 100/50 and the 90/50 hollows would need to be sharpened more often, since the edge height is lower. Does anybody have any experience with these hollows? -

I just got a 100/75 put on my skates yesterday, and skated on them for an hour today at public skate. I was coming from a 7/16", and have tested everything from a 3/8" to a 3/4" ROH, before settling on the 7/16" ROH. I think the 100/75 definitely feels like a 3/8" or deeper, when stopping. Although the glide was noticeably smoother and faster, the 100/75 had way too much bite when stopping. I'll be skating on them again for another two hours on Saturday when I help coach my son's mite team, but I'm pretty sure I'll be going to a 90/75 for my next sharpening. -

2009 Warrior Catalogue
Tailboard Jockey replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2009 Product Catalogue Reviews
nice when they come in post some pics I will. There's nothing too crazy about them, though. They'll just be all navy, no stripes, plus 2" in length, black "W", silver outline around black "WARRIOR" on the top, and my name embroidered on the inside of the "six pack" protector. What kind of ETA did they give you? 4-5 weeks. nice when they come in post some pics I will. There's nothing too crazy about them, though. They'll just be all navy, no stripes, plus 2" in length, black "W", silver outline around black "WARRIOR" on the top, and my name embroidered on the inside of the "six pack" protector. How much do the custom Hustlers cost? It depends on the options you get, but mine were $205 after tax. It was an extra $20 for the +2" length, and an extra $6 for my name embroidered on the inside front. -

Un-Written Rules of Hockey

-bring a light and a dark jersey, but no gray or yellow -don't drink out of anybody else's water bottle -don't be a super-shifter, keep your shifts around two minutes or less -make an effort to back-check -make an effort to play your position -don't be one of those constant cherry-pickers every shift you're on the ice -pass the puck when it's prudent to do so, nobody likes a puck hog -don't be one of those guys who's always borrowing tape or wax, bring your own -
EWH carries them.

east west hockey has a blackstone. But I don't know if they have the spinner yet. I think I read in an earlier post, if you let blackstone know they'd call them and try to sell them on the FBV if they dont have it already I was there today getting my kids' skates sharpened. I ask the guy (it wasn't Jason) if they're going to start doing the Flat-Bottom V on their Blackstone. He had no idea what an Flat-Bottom V was. -

Does anybody know of any LHS' in Northern California doing a Flat-Bottom V? -
I still have mine, and play with a few guys who still use theirs as well. Those things seem to be damn near indestructible.

I Know back in the day, Jeremy Roenick used to draw eyes on the blade of this Easton T-Flex 100, so that he could "See the net". Dunno if it's the same idea, but maybe. "The puck has eyes." :P

The Hockey News is predicting the Blues to finish last in the West.

Those are nice.

I would stay away from the '08 6.4L. They get horrible mileage. You'd be better off going with a '07 down to a late '04 model Powerstroke.

There are 3 here (San Carlos, Oakland, and San Jose) that I can think of off the top of my head that have pretty good selections, and one of them has alot of pro stocks and Eagles.

I just spent about $140 today to put about 31 gallons of diesel in my truck. :(
-
The black on black looks good.

Sounds pretty nice! My wife absolutely hates my truck. I love it when she's with me in it, and people wave at me or give me a thumbs up. Especially when it's a hot chick doing it. She can't stand that! It makes me laugh my ass off.

ok, honest question here. I moved to PHX from the Midwest a couple of years ago, and I notice that EVERYBODY out here has one of those beasts. There are even car lots out here that sell nothing but monster trucks. What I don't get is, what's the draw to these things? I don't even think they're street legal in Illinois, where I grew up, where ground clearance, bumper height and tire size are restricted and it seems like diesel is more expensive than gasoline (3.49 vs. 3.19 last time I filled up) and even if these guys out here drove gasoline-powered tanks, they'd get worse mileage than the diesel. No offense, I just can't wrap my head around it. BTW, 2004 Hyundai Accent, 5 speed, no AC, $9000 brand-new, the only money I've put in it is seat covers, floor mats and oil changes. woo woo! For me, the draw is that I have a truck that I love the looks of, can haul anything and everything I need it to, take my family on a road trip with luggage and bicycles in the bed, and they have plenty of room in the back seat without getting clautrophobic, I've got more than enough leg room for myself, plus room to stretch out, I can see over traffic, I get 17 mpg, and it's faster than most cars (450 hp right now, around 550 by summer). The downsides are parking it, and the cost of getting it the way I want it. I've never had any mechanical problems with it, and I plan on keeping it for a few more years.

I drive an '04 Ford F-350 6.0L diesel with a few modifications, and my wife drives an '07 Toyota Highlander V6 4WD.
