Think I reached a breaking point with my job. I just can't get into what I do anymore. I'm working on updating tech info in a book right now. I'll read and correct a page, then browse the internet for 30 minutes, fix one page, browse internet and repeat... God dammit I need a new job...

Had a home and home series this weekend with the U14 girls that I coach against our league rivals. Saturday night didn't go so hot. Waited until the 3rd period to start playing. Safe to say we didn't overcome the 4-0 hole we were in and lost 5-2. Game got pretty chippy too with the other team running their mouths the whole time. Well, they came to us last night. End result was an 8-1 beat down by us. Goal of the game came in the second period when they scored to make it 2-1. Right off the next faceoff, my winger blasted a slapper from the top of the circles that the goalie couldn't even react to. Safe to say it was smooth sailing from there. Their coach's face was priceless. He's the kind of guy that makes a win like that feel that much more sweet.

Excuse me while I continue to play my violin, but I'm freaking sick of the fact that my boss keeps asking me to essentially babysit a coworker of mine to make sure he does his job. Mind you he is a VP and makes about 60K more than I do...

Banged up my elbow pretty nicely last night. Landed square on it twice, felt like I didn't even have a pad on even though it was in perfect position both times, now I can't even lean on it. Guess that's my excuse to Wifey pick up new elbow pads...

The father of a kid I used to coach took his own life the other night. Not sure whether to be mad or remorseful. The guy suffered from MS for close to 20 years. He was a real trooper and battled through it for all those years. The best part was that he would turn broken hockey sticks into canes to help him walk. I would love to get my hands on one of those now! Anyway, I guess the part that upsets me is that he always preached to never give up (we had a shitty season that year), keep pursuing and good things will happen and what not. Just threw me for a loop when I was told he took his own life...

Fat guy in a little coat! Too bad this kid is a stick. He's like 6'-2" 120lbs soaking wet. Would love to catch him coming across the blue line with his head down if he played. Too bad he doesn't have an athletic bone in his body. He makes me lose all respect for Penn State's engineering program...

Yea. Have a few parents bitching that I didn't put a power play unit on the other night. We were up 6-0 at the time. Why the hell would I shorten the bench? The kids have to learn some time, might as well have been then. Then they're after me again the following day. Playing a non-league game where my top players really aren't contributing, so I put out the ones who were working hard. Thought it was pretty fair. Game doesn't count towards where we end up at the end of the season, WHO CARES! They're 13 and 14 year old girls, RELAX! Oh yea, we're 9-3-1, not like we have a shitty record or anything to be mad about...

Hockey parents. Leaving it at that for now. I gotta fix me another drink...

Been having to do that to my girls and trust me, I hate every minute of it, but its all about discipline. The whole beginning of the season, we were stuck playing weaker teams, we'd win 7-0, 8-1 and I'd still walk off the ice pissed. They kept making mistakes that weaker teams won't make you pay for. Well, now we keep making those mistakes against some of the better competition that we're facing (and that we should be beating). We're 1 and 3 over the last 4. We've had a few goals against because of most of the mistakes I've been pointing out while we were winning. Its frustrating, while at the same time I'm enjoying the "I told you so" moments after they happen. I guess it's a good thing it's happening though. The girls are starting to see it themselves...

Yea. Kinda had to. I'm already getting yelled at for not being home enough to help in the whole process. That's another rant in itself...
