My 'adopted' mom got released from the hospital yesterday, my realmom got released on Tuesday, and I had a very nice windfall (fate's early birthday present) from a scratch ticket today. July is looking to be much better than June.

A few weeks ago I had one of my skates widened to relieve a sore spot ... got to try them last night. Holy cow. It didn't hurt! I may have to send a fawning letter and cookies to the hockey shop.

Picked these up supercheep today after the launch party at the Garden for the new Bruins scratch tickets. Couldn't turn down for $2/pair. Sadly, hand is broke and I won't get to wear 'em another month or so.

Forgive me if this is not quite kosher (the pants are clearly nothing special), but I wanted to show off the repair job I did on my pants (that clumsy white stitching there), because the stitching worked and is actually holding up through skating.

This morning I played hockey (pickup) for the first time in ... ugh, a year ... and it was so much fun. Outdoor rink, early AM, two hours of total freedom from panic attacks, can't wait til next week. Ah, bliss.
