  1. Sorry leaf fans, but at this point its becoming comical. Mr. Hall, start looking for apartments in the Boston area..
  2. They have him up filling Fehr's spot. He actually does a good job as a forward, hes got a big body and uses it well.
  3. Just saw that on ESPN. Time for Crosby put the full weight of the team on him. Id look for Jordan Staal to turn some heads during this stretch.
  4. Any ideas on how long Gagne will be out? Id have to imagine he'll miss the Olympics.
  5. lol waaaaaaayyyy too early for that type of talk. Crosby's developing a history of injuries, and the season is long. The Pens have played more games than any other team in the NHL (besides Detroit) in the last two years. Its relatively easy to jump to the head of the pack, it's much harder to stay there. And before you say you'll walk all over the Caps, wait until they play each other to say that. That being said, i think they'll develop a nice lead in the East, being in the top 3 through the Olympic break, but I can see them slowing down towards the end. They really just need to make the playoffs, not finish top 3. It would be wiser to give some players some rest if playoffs are guaranteed.
  6. Ive said it over and over, If Montreal wants to win and be competitive, Halak has to be their goalie. I was never sold on Price, and his debut in the league and the WJC is what has built his reputation. SSS. Hes not that good.
  7. Not always true. Depends where the team is as well and how big of a city it is. Rangers never have attendance problems, same as the Knicks who have been god awful. But i know what you mean, and 97% of the time, your right.
  8. Aaaaannnnnd the Leafs are the last team remaining without a win. Isls almost blew this game too.
  9. But their PP WILL take a hit regardless. Their other Dmen can obviously keep them afloat, but expect their PP conversions to drop.
  10. Its actually his foot. and He's out for up to 6 weeks. Guess i gotta pickup letang or goligowski. Edit: I'm a liar, its his wrist.
  11. I gotta disagree. Look at Chicago. None of their players are on the same scale as Ovechkin and Crosby. Kane is a great player, as is Towes, but none of them have hit 90 points as of yet, but the team is great. Building through the draft is a great way to make a team, but you have to be dedicated. It can't be halfassed or its gonna end badly. The Avalanch got Stastny, Wolski and Duchene that will form the core of their team for years to come. All VIA the draft. Youth is the new high-priced free agent. LA and St.Louis are other teams that built through the draft. Perron, Oshie, Berglund, Eric Johnson, Doughty, Jack Johnson, Kopitar and the list goes on and on. Building a team from free agents and such is often rag/tag and chemistry takes some time to develop.
  12. I can't see that being the case. Either another move is coming or Savard is getting an extension.
  13. Well considering the Verizon Center was barely half full when Ovechkin first got there, ill take all the bandwagoners. Given time, some of them will become real fans.
  14. While a lot of players will look better playing with a Pronger or nieds, I think Beauchemin is one of those who when playing with talent really take off.
  15. Its nice the Caps got the win, especially since they havnt beaten the Sharks in their last 10 meeting or something ridiculous. After the 1st period i was pretty worried though. Half of it was spent on the PP and they only scored one goal. Even the goal they scored seemed strained. Not sure about the OV-BMO-Knuble line. I dont think BMO can keep up with OV for a full season, but it does help balance the scoring. I really want them to pull a New York Rangers and plug in Alzner and Carlson, but i think cap issues wont allow it. Edit, Theo left the game after the 1st period due to an injury.
  16. Just went and saw Dead By Sunrise in the city last night and i have to say Chester Bennington is one of THE BEST live performers I've ever seen. He puts so much into every word, its amazing. He jumped up against the barricade and sang with us all, it was great. And some band called Velvet Code opened up for them, and i gotta admit they were pretty good for a band with no guitarist or bassist.
  17. Do player's skill levels's drop when they but on the blue or something? The leafs are gonna be in the Taylor Hall lotto. guarenteed.
  18. Bergeron has a real nice slapper/one timer. So he could full a decent amount of Markov's shoes on the PP point wise. Like others have said, defensively hes not so hot and shouldn't see much 5 on 5 action unless its against the grinders or something.
  19. Really glad i drafted Thomas... <_< Hopefully they right the ship soon.
  20. Well that's the problem. Oh btw, the Monster seems to be a bit frail. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=294195
  21. Lets hope the defence actually plays defense. Particularly around the net. They have a bad habbit of letting guys get 2nd and 3rd chances. And now that the rangers are playing a Caps style offence, I think this is going to be a blowout. Del Zotto and Gilroy are good at jumping into the play, but against this offence, they're going to pay for it. and often. I say 5-1 Caps.
