  1. You're annoying. Maybe "Show It Off" was the wrong topic to click, eh?
  2. With the Blues, yes.
  3. Eric Weinrich pro-stock.
  4. Why do you say that? I've never dealt with them personally, but I've heard nothing but good things.
  5. A couple of shots from warm-ups; the quality of photography reflects my quality of play... :P
  6. Odd situation indeed. What rink is this; I'm from West Bloomfield, MI. It's not Southfield, is it?
  7. I agree that it's entirely unacceptable to presume that such a practice would be okay. However, allowing someone to use the helmet once and return it without paying is essentially the same thing as accepting no-questions-asked returns on equipment that was only worn once; in both cases, the consumer uses the product once and gives it back having ultimately paid nothing. Again, I'm not defending the "mouther-breathers" here, just something that occurred to me. Edit - Yes, I realize that not all shops will accept returns on once-used equipment. Also, I simul-posted with jimmy, he sort of beat me to the punch on this.
  8. Hell hath no fury like that of a wronged LHS worker.
  9. They felt fantastic to me. Although, admittedly, I was too excited about the feel, mobility, and color scheme to worry about the weight. Also, I was coming off a 14" pair of Supreme 70 gloves into a pair of 13", so I suppose that could also have something to do with my not perceiving any heaviness. As far as cutting out the pad - if you're a real gram whore (I believe I've seen you post your gloves' weight statistics, haha), it might do something for you. But personally, I love feeling like I'm putting pillows on my hands. My only complaint is that the palm is wearing down very quickly. I started off with black grip tape, tried out a tacki-mac but didn't like how sticky it was, and am now with white gripe tape. After about 10 skates, the upper palm is already worrying me. I expect to need them FIBMed by year's end. Edit - That's too bad about the paint pen. I knew that those little white padding blocks beneath the mesh would be a problem, and I sorta figured the glossy reflective strips would be a pain too. Oh well... I was thinking about grabbing the SJ gloves that are already blacked-out anyway ;)
  10. That's something else, wow. Was it a Brighton high schooler?
  11. Couldn't resist the orange visor. I'm not NEARLY good enough to pull it off, but I'm gonna try ;) And those gloves are unbelievable... they had more range of motion in the fingers and wrist out of the box than any glove I've used.
  12. Just picked up off ebay. Should look good with the current digs (poor picture quality, but the sweater and glove accents are orange):
  13. Thanks for the info. Have you done it before with success?
  14. Just the gray adjacent to the reflective strip? How do you plan to do it? My Anaheim 4-rolls don't have those grey strips, but I've been thinking about blacking-out the reflective strip and the wire vents. Just worried about the dreaded "purpleing" that you often see with Sharpie jobs. Edit - I'd like them to look like this in the backrolls:
  15. Maybe these are the ones you saw:
  16. I don't hate the idea of a glove that you can buy along with several different palms and an easy palm-switching process to figure out which one suits you best (not that this was Rawling's intention), but a zipper is obviously not the way to go about that...
  17. On that note - SmartHockey Stickhandling balls? I know every shop seems to have tons, but I don't think I've ever heard of someone actually buying or using one.
  18. Might someone explain what this was?
  19. I was actually just wondering about that, as the advertising seemed too cheesy to catch on with adults, but looked like it may have resonated with youngsters. I've scarcely ever seen them around rinks in the hands of adults though. I was offered a free one where I work. I thought about taking it to turn around and sell it... but ultimately decided not to. I've heard nothing but bad things about that twig.
  20. I think you'd be hard-pressed to argue that the 9k wasn't a flop considering how relentlessly it was advertised, even long before its release. Edit - Grammatical error haunted me.
  21. That was the idea, yeah. Even more noteworthy are those that were hyped up by their producer, like the 9k O-Stick for example. Parts of equipment, too - like the short-lived synthetic tongues on the One90 skates.
