ayyye, I'll be there! Excited to see everyone

I've always loved Eagle Gloves. The pair of PPF+s I had were by far and away my favorite pair. Miss those things.
-
Can’t wait!

Is the problem the orthotic was going to solve something that True can solve with a fitting? My understanding of Orthotics is it helps fix pronation, and your ankle rolling one way or the other because of an improperly fitting footbed/insole. Is that your situation?

Assuming the technology works perfectly, and there's no defects in manufacturing that causes deformities from the idealistically perfect laser scan?
-
If the retail skates are comfortable and fit well, as the poster you replied to said, you can't assume VH is going to fit and perform better.
-
I went from a well fitting size 9 S17 to a great fitting size 9 Makos

The wonderful effects of market research!

The tongue will compress to your foot. The thickness is intended to help prevent lace bite by distributing the pressure of the laces over the entire foot instead of just the points of contact. You want them thick.
-
For those interested in these skates. Hockey Giant has them for $500 plus a 15% off in a lot of sizes. Almost considered buying another pair.
-
For what it's worth. I was in a 9D S17, RS and Now 9D in Mako.
-
$100 cheaper than current customs, and $100 more than current retail. Not too surprising.
-
Someone made fun of me because of the Mako's, chirping me because of the cost. The best part was his defensive partner was wearing them too. I got a kick out of that.
-
An absolute steal at $50.
-
In stark contrast to your situation. I'm in a 9D Mako coming from a 9D Easton RS and 9D Easton S17. I find the length perfectly acceptable, no dead space in front of the toes.

How does the plastidip hold up? If you can just peel it away, wont it start tearing and ripping away in normal play?
-
Maybe your feet just aren't meant to go in hockey skates?
-
Same here. After the bake, they've been great.

Yes it's the same path. The MLX had roots in Speed Skating as well. They got 1 or 2 initial skaters in the boot, then Hiller jumped on the goalie bandwagon for their initial splash. VH is doing the exact same thing. Next thing we know they'll be offering Straight to Customer pre-orders for their prototypes.
-
Seems they're taking the exact same path as MLX did. Wonder if they're hoping for the same situation and a competitor buys them up to compete with the Mako.

Think I'm going to take the advice of that fitting video and heat the uppers up a bit and press them closer together. I feel like I'm really have to crank the laces down on the top two eyelets to get the lateral support I need. Probably a function of how the tendon guard is cut so low.

After re-reading, I'm guessing he means there will be a custom option, like jlp15 said.
