I was told by our rep to heat the skate one at a time like we normally do for 3 minutes, and halfway through that throw the speed plate in (roughly 90 seconds) - put speedplate into the skate, have user immediately stand up for 10 seconds, and then lace up the skate. I can see it getting messed up if you go somewhere that has no idea what they are doing, and especially see issues doing it at home - more reason to go into a shop that is knowledgeable and have it professionally done. Gussets & a nicer palm are the biggest things you'll notice. If you don't want to change too much go with the 800s.

The Speedplates should do well, Bauer is introducing in-store displays for these which will help out. Digging the street catalog, I can't really think of anything else you're not offering now except NHL licensed apparel, which, I wouldn't be shocked if you roll out next year by beating out CCM. Wouldn't mind seeing more options for team gloves though, the Navy/Red option is pretty popular among teams, but somewhat lacking for gloves. Or if you added gloves to MyBauer - I think you'd be surprised at the quantity of nexus1000/mx3/apx2 gloves sold at $249-$269. Should be another good year for Bauer and stock holders :)

Warrior doesn't have the best booking program, so I know a decent amount of retailers that wait until closer until season to get product in. Its worth the wait though, I like the new gloves (not as much as franchises, but, nothing will compare to those) and the QR1 sticks are amazing. Next season I'd expect to see Warrior gear in sooner some places as they will probably have an all new protective line.

Dude buy some protective equipment! No one likes playing with guys that have nothing on either.

All Makos will be repossessed from consumers and replaced with the new company's skate. All stock from retailers will be repossessed as well and replaced. The same thing happened when Bauer bought Cooper, Bauer had all of their skates repossessed from consumers and retailers and that's why you don't see Cooper skates anymore.

4/1 is launch I believe, expect to seem them in stores pretty quickly.

Blades are a dying business. If they are around in 5 years it'll be pretty exclusive to one or two companies. If you are in love with something, I'd suggest starting to stock-pile.

HTX officially is mid-June. I wouldn't be surprised if LHS have the sticks earlier though since Easton tends to send stores product a couple weeks before internet launch.

Have you tried on a Bauer Nexus in a wide width? Or Graf 709s in a wide? That would be a start before going into customs. The Bauer Nexus in a 2E is essentially a 4E skate so trying it on would be a good option for you. As for questions on a custom order - well, the guy doing your custom skates should be able to answer any questions you have. If he can't then I'd suggest looking for someone different to order $1000 skates for you.

I said that outloud but not loud enough, nor do I think they heard me. There is a dad who's kid is a goalie. He has not bought anything from us in the last 5 years. I think he's gotten a dangler and maybe a jock, but thats it. He came in about 2 months ago with new Bauer Pro skates - I thought to myself, wtf. Why didn't he even ask us to get them? But the Dad wasn't with the kid and I didn't want to berate him so I let it go. Well his kid had been in Reeboks last couple of skates, and bought the step taller steel. So the Dad came in again a week or so ago with Step Bauer steel, first time I've seen him in months. Finally I asked him letting him know we could have gotten anything his kid has, like this steel, and that we are starting to stock some of the high-end goal stuff he is buying. Turns out he is buying everything from TotalHockey because of their rewards program. Its $10 gift card for every $300 spent. Really? That's when the are you effing kidding me part came out. Not trying to bash on them but, if we have steel for $80, and TH has steel for $80, and even with free shipping, I charge you $10 to sharpen new steel, what's cheaper? The steel that cost $86 after tax, or the steel that cost $90 but got you $2.67 towards a gift card (So lets say it cost $87.33). Still think the $86 option is still cheaper, and you're supporting the local guy who will stay a half hour late to sharpen your kids skates before a game the half dozen times you've asked during his HS career. And with those skates? When he got them they still were $600, so with the program he'll get a $20 gift card. We sold that skate for $500, just didn't have his size. And its been this way forever. He knows were going to give him more than a 3.33% discount (essentially what the rewards program is) and for some reason he never even bothered asking us for a quote. Boggles my mind. Oh and this last week I had someone get upset that I didn't have the TotalONE Pant instock. Then I explained I have what replaced it, the Nexus 1000. He asked if I would match the Nexus 1000 with the TotalONE Pant. Obviously say no I can't do that, direct him towards the Nexus 800 pant. He says thats not what he wants and he leaves and says I lost a sale. Uhh..what? People are weird. Positive story though and the reason I stay in it! Kid, maybe 5 comes in, eyes as large as golf balls. He's just super excited, I spend about an hour sizing him up with everything head to toe and the family left incredibly happy and thanked me, but most of all, this little boy is living his dream. That's what makes all of the bad balance out and be worth it!

Makes sense - I don't even know where my catalog went so I was going off memory. The hard part is seeing this stuff 6 months before launch and then having to relearn everything.

I wonder how much abuse goes on during the programs. We told our employees its for them and them only & if they aren't wearing the skates they'll be in trouble. It makes it a little easier to control when you only have 8 employees though ha.

Between One.9 and 180 - yes. Between One.9 and 190 - not so much. The 180 will have the same Curv composite quarter panel, however there is a different as far as liner, tongue and with the samples I saw - stiffness. 180 was softer than the 190, even though both have the curv composite material. Could have just been what I saw but there was a difference. If you are looking at buying the one.9, especially on clearance, go for it.

From my rep... E7 is dead because a majority of players were migrating towards e36/p88. E7 apparently only sold really well in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri. Everywhere else it was their number 3 or 4 best selling curve. Guess the market wasn't big enough to keep it as an option and decided to focus on the e36

Most sharpeners see steel and hone it. Kind of like fat kids getting drawn into a candy machine, just happens. I don't think too many people don't know you aren't supposed to hone it? I made sure my guys don't but it just takes one guy...

Blackedge, sorry. When I viewed I asked if it was OEM'd by Blackedge & I was told that CCM purchased rights to use it. Could be totally made up, wouldn't shock me.

JR, CCM 4-Roll gloves have a revamp. As for the steel on the SB Black steel - I was told CCM purchased the rights to produce blacksteel and this is it.
