anyone break a ST yet?

Recommended Posts

I'm leary of these sticks because of Easton's generally poor quality. I have two of them in the store although no one has bough one yet. Just curious if anyone has or knows of premature breakage. I know they are not out log enough to have real durability stats, but if you know of a guy who broke one in less than a month, or on first shot, etc, that's be enough info for now.

Talked to an AHL equipment manager about 2 months ago, he said that "the blade is the only thing stronger on this stick." He showed me about a dozen broken at the shaft but non at the blade (ST Grips, the putred green). Of course this was back in Feb. so they may have been prototypes as well as pro-stock.

A couple guys I know who play in the dub have been saying that many are breaking around the handle area... sounds a lil familar.

my friend broke his blade on his the first day he had it and thats just from roller

Sorry, but if you break a hard composite blade in one roller hockey game, you have a defect or you slammed your stick on the ground, got it stepped on, etc. That doesn't tell us the durability of the stick, that just tells us you have bad luck or got a bad one.

On that note, my cousin just got a new ST, and our league starts up in a few weeks so we'll keep track of how long it lasts. I've talked to about half a dozen people using them, none of them are really hard on sticks in terms of shaft breakage, but they all said the blade holds onto it's stiffness a good amount better than the normal synergies.

It's still nice to know if the defect rate is high or low.

you shouldn't be playing hockey if you wont use a stick because of color. I'd use a pink stick with purple polka-dots if it meant maximized my abilities.

I've have three Sl's, two regular and one grip. The two regular one's both broke on the blade within my first ten times on the ice and the grip I have used from about 4 ice sessions and it is still good.
