Yeah you know a floorball isnt like a streethockey ball. The ball is very light and the blade on the stick is very special so you could do this trix if you practise in a few months!

Floorball sticks have a pocket at the end so the blade will feel more like a lacrosse stick almost.

They are pretty expensive, considering you are gettin an injection molded peace of plastic that probably costs 20 cents to make.

Sport is very big in Europe with some actually real prize money, etc.

If I were going to fake it, it would use a light ball, like someone said a whiffle ball, and put some steel foil inside of it. Then I would put an electromagnet inside the plastic blade (or maybe even just a strong permanent magnet), and take a fuzzy video of me defying gravity and post it on youtube!

With an electromagnet, you can turn it on and off, for when you want to roll the ball on the floor briefly.

In other words, like a magician's trick.

in case anybody cares, here's the ball that is used in the indoor version, it is indeed called Unihockey in europe.

and this is the stick. they are very short and light weight, usually made out of plastic, with a replaceable blade. in Switzerland, especially on the german speaking side, these are popular to play street hockey with, because a top of the line stick only costs about $60.00 and the balls are about 1.50 each. Heres what the sticks look like.

you curve the blade by putting it in hot water and then curving it to your likings and then putting it in cold water, the're about $20 to replace when they wear down.

Good info Adam, I saw this sport last year when i was in Finland. It's pretty popular there, my gf's little brother played. I remember one time they had a game televised (apparently there's a pro league). The goalie gets a street hockey like mask, and some gloves that look like a soccer goalie's gloves. These are not the same sticks as what they use for bandy, i believe the bandy sticks are similar in size, but they're made of wood, like a mini hockey stick. You can get blades that have a really deep pocket in the toe, so I don't doubt that both videos are real.

in switzerland they have a pro league as well, and yes, the goalies are on their knees, in roller hockey pants, a padded shirt like a goalie in soccer, wears soccer goalie gloves and a street hockey helmet. The sport itslef is really high paced, and that ball is a pain in the ass to control, but putting sick toe curves on those blades, gives you amazing ball control and a sweet wrist shot. that being said, its a sport for people who couldn't skate but still wanted to play hockey. Pansies. :P

the trick he does is called, airhooking or 'zorro'. this technique can be used in an official match if a) The stick does not come above the knees, b)when the blade is placed flat on the ground, the measurement from the ground to the highest point of the blade is LESS than 3cm. I participate in 'floorball, innebandy, unihockey". ( just some of the names). and find it helps immensely with stickhandling and shooting. Here is a picture of the zorro blade that is used to airhook : salming-cypher-zorro-cepel-8751.jpg the toe can be heated over a stove top, and a ball pushed into it, to make the curve bigger, and making it easier to airhook
