What players do you think are overated or underated?

Off the top of my head I'll start it off with overated: Robin Regehr underated:John Madden

His offensive might be a little overated but hes solid defensivly but after seeing the game today its hard to complement anyone on team canada

Over rated - Niedermyer, Stevens, Maltby, Cujo, Ribeiro, Koivu, Belfour, Chara, St. Louis, Zednik, Hannan, Domi, Mogilny (recently), Modano, Hull, Forsberg, Madden, Alfredson

Underrated - Zidlicki, Kalinin, Jokinen, Palffy, Alison (when he's healthy), Doan, Hossa, Havlat, Lang, Stillman

Like Mik3 said, Brodeur is VERY Overrated. Ribeiro and Iginla also fit into the Overated category. Can't think of any for the Underated. Im sure I will by tomarrow.

But I never hear anyone REALLY talk about him except for that. I bet if I asked anyone I knew around here (NJ), they would not know who Mike Ryder is, hockey player or not.

Madden underrated? He won the Selke once and has been a finalist a few other times. He also signed a big contract right before the lockout and gets more exposure than any defensive player not named Draper or Holik.

I'm going to cause a ruckuss on this one but south ot Canada Mats Sundin gets almost no publicity for being as good as he is. 20+ minutes a night, takes every important faceoff, kils penalties, on the first PP unit, big, tough, great leader, etc....

Before you start beating me up on this ask yourself what was the last time you saw highlights of him or someone talking about what a great player he is? In Tornoto, I'm sure you hear a lot about him. In the rest of Ontario and in Quebec, I'm sure they hear too much about him, but I'm talking about in the US.
