Okay here my little dilemma...

I'm skating in 1152 with t'blades since 2 year now,

I would like to try a new brand that fit about the same as the Tack....

1.Nike Flexlite(there new,anybody have them??)

2.Bauer Supreme( But i never really like Bauer skate...)

3.CCM Pro tack 2004 or the 2005

4.CCM Vector(but i heard some really bad durabillity issue on them!)

5.Mission Lite(what happens with Mission...everybody have their new stuff except Mission!??)

My priority are(the 1 is the most important):

1.Pitch,fit(I know fit is personal, but pitch is something that i have problem with!)

*2.Durability---Stiffness(i'm having problem with my 1152 stiffness(that why i'm changing them)

3.Lightness ( i like light skate!)

4. Price ( Maximum 400 CND$(without tax) )

*In my opinion Stiffness goes in the durability categorie....but anyways

Since the max i whant to put is 450 with tax...all the model i whant are the one lower than the Top...(i.e: F10 over the F12..)

Please give me some input!

Thanks

Alex!

P.S; Some of you might know it...but i had the chance to demo some F12...but i never really been able to get used to them after 5 hours...because of the PTICH...So I'm wondering if the boot itself have a sort of pitch...or doing a ''heel-lifting' will resolve the problem or Return to my t'blades!!!

I think it bruins88 who had problme with the pitch of his XXX...any new buyer had problem with it??

From what I have seen on my teams, durability and lightness don't seem to go together. However, nobody on my teams have the carbon-fibre KORs or Synergies.

So, the Vector is very stiff and very light, but not as durable as more traditional skates.

My way of seeing this is:

1. Traditional skates - (e.g. Tacks) - heavier, more durable

2. 1st generation lightweights (e.g. Easton Z-Airs) - a little lighter, durable

3. 2nd generation lightweights (e.g. XX/XXX, Vector) - light, not durable

4. 3rd generation lightweights (e.g. KOR, Synergies) - light, durability is unknown

If you go with the Mission L5 you might want to consider the EE version as the heel is very narrow/tight in them.

I must agree with you...but i think the Vector are in an another world

Because from what i heard it like 90% of people had bad durabillity and 10% of them had chance with the Vector...i don't think other skate have a poor durability like the Vector

Or maybe I'm totally wrong?? :(

I am one of the ones who had chance (who was lucky) with the Vector Pros. But, I am not that tall or heavy (5'8", 165lbs).

When I lace, my top eyelets are loose, so I haven't had the eyelets rip out like some players.

The plastic exo-skeleton pieces have not fallen off either.

I try to take good care of my skates (air them out thoroughly, lace by pulling out instead of up, dry the blades well, keep them out of hot places like my car). I have had them for over 1 year now, 3+ ice times per week in the winter, 1+ ice times in the summer.

I've used the Vector Pros since December 2004 and haven't had any durability problems. Now, I'm just playing men's league hockey so I'm probably not as hard on the skates as some of you playing high level hockey, but I do play 1-2 times per week in the winter am 6'2" and 210lbs. I'm not saying there aren't durability problems...I've just been lucky enough not to experience them so far.

Since some people would say it about the physic of the guys...

I'm 6''1 185 pound, playing 3-5 time per week

The way i see it goes like this(if i'm wrong just tell me!):

Nike Flexlite:

+stiffness

+price(I think the F10 are a great value)

+Light and protection

+Look!!

-the narrow at the end of the skate

CCM Tack 2004: I don't really look at them...any one know??

CCM Tack 2005: +I really like their eyelock!!!

-Their cheap plastic outsole

Except this, they are pretty the same

CCM Vector:+ Light and protection

+Eyelock

+Look isnt that bad!

=Price isnt good isnt bad!

-Durability

Bauer Supreme: I don't know anything about these except the fit!

Mission Lite:I never had a chance to touch them...but a lot of you on Modsquad...like Mission skate...so they must be good!

If you could help me correction one or 2 thing...just reply...and i will be happy to read you LOLLL

no but seriously...i really need your input! Because my hardest decision now is Flexlite 10( I would like to give Nike a try...and they are so light and so Sexy looking!!:P) or Pro tack 2004( I have 1152 so i know what i will get!!)

Thanks

epinions has a bad review on the flexlites.

http://www.epinions.com/content_185476419204

I dont like his reviews. I know 3 kids with XXX's and have heard nothing but good things, and he gave them 1 star...

He doesn't bother using most of the stuff he reviews. Nearly every review seems to be based on reading the spec sheet and looking over the product. I like some of his stick reviews where he borrows a stick for a shift, then writes a review that takes longer to read than his total experience with the item.

That's why we require extensive use of a product before posting a full review.

Most of his reviews on the vapor line are mainly on how he doesnt like the way vapor is and the way nike took over them thats why i think he doesnt like them

If I were you I would get the Pro tacks 2004, Mission S400/L5 or Easton Synergy 700/900.

Try to narrow it down to one.. :D

Just looking at your criteria, the mission skates fit it.

What kind of pitch do you want? Level or forward? Aren't Bauers more forward now?

i whant a forward pitch...if not agressive!!(some people would say that the t'blade have a agressive forward pitch)

I feel with the Lighspeed i was too much on my heel!:S

And if i buy CCM skate i will 100% sure put t'blades , 90% sure for Nike/Bauer and for Mission...well i would try their pitch holder before making a move!!

I never think about Easton because they are such over-priced!

To the best of my knowledge, the only player to ever use Nike skates in the NHL was Sergei Federov who was getting paid a rather hefty sum to do so. Further, he played about three or four games in them before becoming so frustrated that he went into an epic scoring slump.

What an idiot.

Numerous skaters informed me of issues with the V-12 skates breaking at the ankle after 4 to 6 months. My own experience was that after six months of skating twice a week, my own pair of V-12 skates deteriorated significantly. They broke down internally to the point that the heel counter literally stabbed me in the ankle and left me bloody after every session. Now call me crazy, but it seems like taking something out of that skate would simply act to accelerate that process. Nike needed to think about reinforcing the skate, not reducing it.

What does he have against nike. He buy's the cheap SMU pro STK and claims they were v-12's?

I can't believe he's claiming they break down in six months. Maybe for a guy like me who's on the ice over 5 times a week in the off season too, I got mine in march, and really, any skate would be lucky to last me all the way to the season in november.

Concerning the durability issue with the Vector's,my brother's 6'5", 210 pounds and used Vector Pro's all this past season and is still pushing them with no problems.

If the Tack lineup feels good to you stick with it. The 852's are a great package and the same overall performance/durability as the 1152's. Not only that but the 852's also have the option of T-Blades as "stock" holders.

I have to say, from what I've seen of XX's and XXX's, they break down real fast. Be it a beer leager or a junior, they just don't hold up. I see a LOT of skates throughout the season and I can tell how fast they break down. Bauer Vapor is the worse line, IMO too.

I will say, the new Eastons seem to hold up well, other than their crappy rusty steel.

I did go to a hockey store today...And the supreme 8000 seem like a old school skate(in the year 2000!) with a so-so tongue...But from what i see with my pool The supreme are the winner with the L5...

So i might be wrong!

By the way,What are the difference between the V-12 and Flexlite?? Lighter, and a bit more narrow at the top??

Anyways, Keep posting your idea!! But remember, their a 95% of chance that i might put t'blades on the skate...so don't judge a skate by his holder!!!

V-12 is wider in the front, and the flexlite has the LS2. The rest is essentially cosmetic. If you look at the skates next to each other, they are practically the same thing anyways. The "flex" pannels have been in nike skates for quite a while. So the difference between the v-12 and flexlite? The minor size dfference of course, and the pricetag!

My idea is to try skates on and whatever feels best, you buy. Everyone else can do it, why can't you.

I could and i will...but i just whant to have a little idea before going to the shop!!

and i can't comment on durabillity and how they feel on ice(i.e:Flexlite feel like the more best skate( in term of fit) but when i got on the ice...i notice a strange pitch(that i wasn't use to) and a bit ''kind of loose'' in front...where the top is wider!

That the kind of think you can see on shop!
