Torque in shafts

Recommended Posts

Ok I decided some time ago to try a 1100 300 flex at admit it took some time to get used to but I started to like it. But I was noticing my shots wrist wise were low most of the time. When I switched to my griplite 100 same blade it was much easier to raise my shots. I shoot a little different then the norm to raise my shots. I shoot the puck from the toe of the blade instead of putting it on the heel and following through. My question is do you think it is due to the blade Torque that is causing this problem. I love the feel of the 1100 but I am starting to wonder. I have a 220 1100 but find it a bit stiff I think its from using the 300 too much. I would think the stiffer the shaft the less Torque. Would I find the same Torque in a 260 flex or is it just Inno's in general? I am thinking about going back to stiffer shafts and wondering if I should switch off Inno's ( I hate to say)??

sorry about the long post!!

Although the inno's perform well, even the first time I used my 1100, I noticed the shaft torquing. If you don't mind the torque and can adjust to it, then I'd stay with them. Otherwise, there's plenty of other shafts and sticks that can forfill your needs to score. ;)

i have this problem with my 85 flex z bubble. i liek whippy sticks, but this one feels like a 70. when its perfect, its a rocket, otherwise when it torques, its a dud

same experience here, there's a certain way to shoot it, if you get it right, it feels great, but if you dont' get it right, it either goes too wide, or not high enough....great for ball hockey though, the 300 flex

The stiffer the shaft, the less I notice the torque problems. The only problem is 260 flex is what works best for my snappers and wristers.

I notice the torque with my 260 novius and 260 quest 1, but it was never a problem with my 220 1100

It's more obvious in the Novius than 1100. I've used 260 Novius, 260 1100 and 220 1100.

It could possibly be due to different flex points.

I know our sticks have different flex points that cause different shots as a result. The G1 has a lower flex point which causes more whip in the blade. Consequently, guys told me their shots were harder, yet rising. The solution was just a matter of controlling their follow-through differently than with their previous sticks.

I don't know, JR.

I give my order to Sweden, who places the order with the factories, which are in Asia. There are two factories; the G1 is tube-blown while the TF1 is table-rolled. Maybe one of the factories also make's Inno's products, but I'm out of that loop.

I am aware of one manufacturer's sticks that have the same contour and texture as ours; they obviously are from the same factory, but what's interesting is the durability is different. I'm gathering that each manufacturer asks the factory to change the composite mix and flex point.

I found the G1 feels like it flexes much higher than the TF.

It's not, however.

When we were designing the TF1, the factory said to us, "Are you aware the flex point is higher than you're using on the G1?" I think they figured we'd want the same flex point.

180s work well enough, everything else may as well be a spatula.

180? Is that like shooting with a log?

More like rebar
