easton quality

With the graphite added to the fibreglass shaft, the 9950 gets stiffer than a 7000 but also a bit heavier. For all you guys on OPS, picking up a 9950 may feel like a log. Some old school defencemen like'em for laying on the lumber in front of their net. Same Sher-wood blade durability= 5 games or so, less if all you do is take slapshots the entire warm-up. Definite positive kick to your shot. All that stiffness can add to your shot if your technique is good.

Some Sher-Wood blade patterns are wild, though. The consistency from stick to stick in the blades can vary. Hey,it's wood!! Oh yeah, right, not man-made!

Bouchard, Havlat, and Crosby are definitely not same old, same old.

the gold grip synergies lasted a while around here. i know a couple guys who still have them, and use them. one used it for a year in major midget, then another in high school and retired it halfway through the season so it wouldn't break. in my opinion, the synergies from that year were the best out there.

That sounds about right in terms of durability..

I'd have to say that Eastons least succesfull stick, durability wise was the Si-Core, i swear, they broke like tooth picks around here..

My Si-core took 9 months of abuse. Slight fracture in the blade. Now its my back-up stick. I use the SL Grip 85 flex. That has two months of use already and is still fine. The Si-core feels so heavy though if I pull it out for warm-up! The Gold Grips lasted me 9 months. I used 2. I thought the Gold Grip shaft kind of died on me before the blade fractured. Once the shaft went soft the stick was history. I used a Response Rubber for 9 months, too. That handled some punishment and kept on coming back for more. Blade finally went with a fracture. I cut 6"+ off all my OPS. I use a very short stick to keep the puck close to my body. Screws guys up when I poke check'em with this junior size stick!

My gold grip Samsonov pro stock that I got from Lego was a tank. I got it so I could make a shaft out of it and the damn thing held up forever. I probably got a month out of it after there was a chunk missing from the hosel. Absolutely amazing.

My pro stock 02 grip synergy lasted for 2 seasons, untill the blade finally broke getting stuck under the zamboni door ,where my sicore lasted a month and a half .That shows alot there. As for the 9950, I used one of mine yesterday at stick&puck for 2 hours. It fired rockets even when I have a broken pinky knuckle thats not fully healed.Im really startin to like wood again.

I can, put a little elbow grease into it and there it goes. :D Hell I played with an an A/G 7100 when I was a SQUIRT. How do you like them apples, 110 flex cut down about 15 inches! There was a day when sticks didn't generate pop for you. I'm only 17 just to show how far technology has come in such a short period of time.

you can shoot rockets with a rock hard stiff stick?
not necessarily rockets, its just an expression.

With a 112 vapor xx My shot was recorded at 56. something. Its not that hard but for me,thats about the hardest could shoot with a slapper last year .That was last year, and ive been going to the gym alot and with the 9950 I felt it was harder than that. But my friend whos a year older can shoot like at least 90 and he badly dented/cracked one of the goalies cages. He uses a tps xxx stiff and cant reallly flex it.To me and a lot of my friends flex doesnt matter that much. Some of you may think different but thats how I feel. ;)

Their OPS have been iffy with me of late, but I stick to the Grip Lites and AC 7100s. The ACs hold up and considering they're 10+ years old out of the gate, that's not bad.

Easiest answer would be they're just familiar to me, but I like the feel, the shape and how stiff they are. It's just a better kick to me with the aluminum/carbon combo than anything out there. Plus they're absolute tanks and will warp before they break.
