DaveTheWave 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2005 I just went back to what is still my favorite skate recently despite the need to break in the HE950's. I have a few sets of these and always go back to them.Mission Wicked Light 1999 (Generator Pro Team Carbon/Black and Red)Labeda DynastySwiss BearingsWhat skate is your favorite roller hockey skate of all time (out of the ones you've skated on)? Yea, the Proto VSI Team Carbon is a close second for sure. The boot is legendary and I wish Mission would bring back the design and materials - quality all around. I skated on it for awhile (along with the 98 Team Issue), but the Wicked Lights are lighter (the selling point of the skate during that year like the Helium now - lightest skate... blah blah) and for me are more comfortable. I do miss the custom footbeds from the 98' line though - they just can't be beat in terms of comfort. Do you guys remember how expensive those skates were back when they first came out? 499-599 for the Wicked Light!

You guys NEED to make a Wickedlight 2....PLEASESpiff it up and bring it back for one year......Thatd be GREAT :) Well they kind of did with the Vibe and all that - but without the original Generator Pro Team Carbon chassis - and screwed it up with the Vibe hardware and larger (green) Generator chassis. Why add extra weight to a skate designed to be the lightest? To me the Vibe was a gimmick like spinner wheels. If it will be revived, keep the original chassis for sure! Justin 1933 134 Report post Posted July 29, 2005 I agree.... Its almost impossible to find those with the carbon chassis anymore :( Because they suck...They aren't any lighter and break easily. Magnessium alloy chassis are the best chassis...

kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted July 29, 2005 Justin, any ideas for a WL 2 ? Like a throwback skate line? That would be SWEET! WL, VSi etc.... Just renovated a bit to keep up with people today
DaveTheWave 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2005 I agree.... Its almost impossible to find those with the carbon chassis anymore :( Because they suck...They aren't any lighter and break easily. Magnessium alloy chassis are the best chassis... I own a few and none have broken - not even a chip in the paint - bulletproof. The weight difference between the two chassis (Magnesium vs. Generator Team Carbon Red) is not significant enough to differentiate the two (when you're talking grams difference, take the more resilient chassis unless you can afford to replace skates more often). I have them on my He950's, but I don't think they are better or worse than the carbon's. I already have scrapes and paint chips on my magnesium chassis after one game (if they were hard anodized or carbon on the other hand... hint hint)
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted July 29, 2005 My favourite has to be the VSi Vibes, although I disliked the Vibe. I've not been overly impressed by any inline skate I was able to try. The Hi-Ho Silvers never fit probably, or else I would've been extremely pleased with them, minus some non "skate" issues.I'll probably give some Tours a shot next year as they've been a close second in the skate decisions for the past 5+ years. Also I wouldn't mind grabbing some Wicked lites off Ebay if I see'em (I know there rare and I'll have to fight off half the board for them). On a side note, did anyone have eyelet problems with the VSi's? Mine have started to rip out. They are fairly old, but I play very short seasons compared to most people. I've gotten probably 80 skates out of them.

malcb33 97 Report post Posted July 30, 2005 Mine would have to be the quatro 10,000! They are so nice! Even though I only have a prototype pair (still have a few bugs, but have been fixed on the newer models), they are so stiff, comfy, light and fit well! Everything you want in a skate! Oh yeah they look awesome as well, for those who are all about the looks!! :D

#1STUD 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2005 Wow, i'm really surprised no one has mentioned the tour 962's yet. Those skates were unbelievably(sp) comfortable. Mine lasted me a good four years and they still work as outside skates. You can't forget the purple chassis either.
