Chadd 916 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 I'm no expert but I would start Bettis. The Steelers run the ball a lot and with Staley out, Bettis will see the ball a lot.

The steelers have by far the best run team IMO. The Bus is the man to start! He tanks through everybody. Also i'd start Roethlisberger instead of Vick. I think Vick will get put out due to injury again.

I think Vick will get put out due to injury again. If they hit him high, he breaks the tackles. If they touch his feet or ankles, he collapses. His yardage numbers are mostly due to their offensive line.
mack 44 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 To start the year I'd go with Bettis over Jackson, but in the long run I think Jackson will end up doing better. Bettis had a great year last year, but for a lot of the season he had Staley to spell him and get him inside the 20.
Adam91 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 The d is weak after seeing Seattle play on tv almost every game. They continue to improve but are still farly week. Both Bettis and Jackson and injury risks. Bettis won't put up many yards but should score a few tds. I'd keep Jones starting this guy will only get better with time and he isn't on a strong team so he should get plenty of carries. Interms of receivers its a tough choice. I'm not really sure what you should to but keep Smith in because with Mouhammad leaving he'll be the primary reciever.
EBondo 233 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 I'm gonna say don't start T.O. unless he gets his contract settled, I'd start Jackson and Bettis at RB, IMO

mik3 1 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Between Bettis/Jones/Jackson I'd pick the two guys who had the best matchups for the week.
hocckey77 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 You might wanna get rid of benson. He still hasn't signed, and if/ when he does I hope the Bears play Thomas Jones more.
LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 I'm gonna say don't start T.O. unless he gets his contract settled, I'd start Jackson and Bettis at RB, IMO This is absurd. TO's contract is structured so he can be cut after his second year. It seems highly unlikely that the Eagles will pay him around $8M in bonuses next year, so it looks like this will be a contract year for TO which means he should put up good numbers. And I'd go with Jones and Jackson at RB unless your scoring is more TD heavy. LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 I'm no expert but I would start Bettis. The Steelers run the ball a lot and with Staley out, Bettis will see the ball a lot. Bettis has said he doesn't want to be the every down back. I'm guessing when Staley doesn't play that Willie Parker will see some reps. Bettis will definitely get some TDs though. 7joe1 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2005 Definately keep Vick at the starting position, Roethisberger is going to flop this year, im picking him for a severe case of sophomore syndrome.Your RB's look solid but i would put Jackson in over Bettis; Bettis will not score you touchdowns and the RBs are key in doing so.You have solid receivers; however id try and work Branch into some sort of rotation or even replacement, for who? thats for you to decide! You have the best TE in the league...Solid kicker and decent D, you should do reasonably well, just remember that Vick likes to run the ball alot himself, id try and trade roethlisberger for a QB that is better and who really likes to throw the ball.Good Luck
Kirsch 1 Report post Posted August 19, 2005 I'd be inclined to say that your team is kind of weak. You don't have much depth in any position. Jones/Jackson is a decent core, but Bettis isn't going to pan out, and I don't think starting the bus is a good decision. You have even less depth at WR. It's not even certain if TO is going to play yet, and your #2 from what I can tell is Jimmy Smith? Ouch. That's rough. If TO does sit you are in trouble. I just bought Vick in an auction league I am in, so I'm really hoping he has a year like he's had in the past, but if he puts up numbers like he did last year, it's not going to be pretty, and Big Ben isn't really a fantasy QB.You've got a lot of ifs and maybes on your team and as it stands right now, I'd be worried, but they could pan out and this could be a solid team. Don't want to sound mean or anything, just giving you some constructive criticism.

Its pretty certain that hes going to stay with the Eagles, but even if he didnt another team would take him in a heartbeat. It doesnt matter whos throws the ball, cause TO's still going to catch it. I was weary of drafting him, but i still picked him up and i have no doubt he plays and plays well

Jimmy Smith is probably the most underrated receiver in the league now that everyone's on the Joe Horn train. It's more about the next three that could be a problem.
