Couple stick related questions

I'm headin' off to university next year, and would like to pick up a good performance shaft that'll last me a while. I'm not looking for a tapered shaft, and I'm leaning towards anything between a whip and an 85 flex. I'm kind of edging towards an Ultra Lite grip, but I'm not sure if they come in 85's, or just 100's and 110's.

My second question is concerning blades. I took a Crosby Sherwood blade here, and twisted it to my liking, which came out very similar to a Drury. I want to possibly get some custom blades done using what I made as the specs, but I don't know where to send it to get the best bang for my buck. I'd go out and buy Drury blades, but they are scarce and only composite.

So if anyone has any recommendations in terms of a shaft and company to make custom blades, I'd appeciate it.

I use an Ultra Light (non-grip) shaft that's an 85 flex. I find it's a great Jack-of-all-trades shaft. Durable, light weight, decent puck feel (I use a wood blade), good for shots and passing.

When I had a synergy, my slappers were a lot better, but it's not very often I take a slap shot during a game so I got rid of it and always use my UltraLight now.

The Ultra Lite Grip only comes in 100 flex and 110 flex.

Redlites are similiar to ultra-lites and they come in whip flex, and alot of people I know have used them and liked them.

Yeah, 6 is the minimum.

Actually, I had some issues with mine. I liked the regular retail blades more than the customs.

I don't think we can help you with the blades, but our shafts have been well received. (Hipster wrote a nice review.) The only problem is they might be a bit short for guys over six-feet tall.

Since they are a closeout and you're an MSH member, they are a great value at the net price.

I also have ultra lite shafts, i dont take lot of slapshot, but i think they will last you for some decent time, but if you look for 85 flex... :(
