I would be pretty surprised if Perry starts out on the ducks. The Ducks most impressive rookie, and the one generally considered most NHL ready is Ryan Getzlaf, who has been really impressive all through training camp and pre season. I've been to one pre season game and several days of training camp, both have looked good, but Getzlaf has been amazing. The Ducks have a bad history of rushing prospects and stunting development, so I think they are being extra careful with these two. I think they will both be great players though.

both goals where amazing, on the frist you he looks so akward staking for the puck but then that move and shot holy! i hope he will be playing with the duck all year.

Just watched the highlights and the second goal where he does the spin was amazing. He didnt even take time to setup his shot once he faced the goalie again he let it rip.

If you go to www.tsn.ca , it's the "highlight of the night" clip.

OR: you can go to www.canucks.com, there's highlights of that game

Any link please, I can't find the vid.

Duckjob, how are doing Fedorov and Chistov?

Federov looks pretty good, he hasn't been outstanding or anything, but his usual solid self. Chistov was offered a qualifying contract, but opted to stay in Russia this year. Hopefully he will regain his confidence and come back next year a better player. In the two years since his rookie year, he has regressed a good amount. All the skill in the world, but needs to get his head straight.

As mentioned he has crazy skill with the puck and has put up major points at every level. I always thought he was somewhat overrated on the whole because of the way the team (London) was built around him but by the same token he gets less credit for his skill than he should because of that. Common consensus though is that his skating needs improvement if he is going to make it as more than just a dangler at the NHL level, although Brett Hull would make you think twice about that.

well I'm almost sure it's rigged for Crosby...the Calder anyways..... <_<

ya just like it was rigged that the pens happen to get the first overall pick... what i don't get is how the oilers and flames got screwed! i mean how can you have 8 balls left to pick from and 4 of them are oilers and flames. the nhl must of screwed them over for bitching all those years.

The Pens ball was picked first.

and who picked the ball? who was there to see the ball get picked? NOONE but the nhl themselves. what are the chances of the pens that were DEAD last and going belly up being picked first! and isn't it a little funny that they only announced who was picking what live but not the actual ball picking. was there even any videos after wards that showed us how the balls were picked... nope. if this wasn't sports people would never go for it. what a load of BS... it's like me getting voted for president but never showing people where the votes came from and only "my" people got to count the votes.

If you are going to use that analogy, then the other presidential candidates votes are also being counted by 'your people.'

The Pens got him, nothing you can do about it now my man.

They have an independent company handling the lottery and don't get the results until they are announced on TV

Plus each team had the opportunity to have someone in the room during the drawing. They were not permitted to leave that room until the results were announced.

Perry played great besides the two goals. He would have had the hat trick but was robbed by Cloutier. He seemed to be in on almost all the Duck's chances.
