New NHL TV Ad

Just saw the new NHL TV ad on Speed channel, of all places. The ad was ok, although a bit corny with the babe helping suit up our "hero." She has never been in my locker room! My only problem is she hands him the right elbow pad before the left. She is messing with the sacred hockey superstition: always put on your left side piece of equipment first.

Actually, I saw another ad today that had outstanding highlights and would have been a great commercial except for the assinine intonation in the background by the brainwashed masses. I swear, that's exactly what it sounded like, like Jim Jones told the fans to intone along the lines of "We believe in the power play. We believe in the speed. We believe in the hitting."

Great highlights backed up by hokey "narraration." :(

i saw the "my NHL" thing, it was pretty lame. made hockey players look like a bunch of metrosexuals that couldn't dress themselves, that's not my nhl :P

i don't know how many people have seen the leafsTv commercials, where they have a highlight of historical significance, and then the screen goes black and says "blah blah blah did blah blah blah while 382,650 people watched (some show)". those are pretty good at making me want to get leafs tv, damn them and their advertising

I thought they made a great ad with the take-off from "Scream", until it turned out to be an ad for EA Sport's NHL 06.

Obviously, the NHL needs to hire that marketing firm.

They only show him putting on one of the elbow pads so it could be she had already handed him the left. Ah, the magic of editting.

I chuckled slightly. Still, nothing beats the Molson ad where the bear gives the girl a the beer pez dispenser. I wish Molson actually sold those.
