I usually wear #12 to commemorate Iginla. However, in league hockey this year, #12 wasn't available so I picked #17 to be like Kovy. :lol:

Normally I wear #71. No reason, I just got it when I was younger and stuck with it. On one team I am #23 because that was the number on the jersey I got. My numbers have always been arbitrary.

I had a coach when I was a kid tell the team not to worry about getting a specific number. He said to just take a number and make it your own. I like that philosophy.

I prefer 4, 11, or 22.

No real reason for 11 or 22. Number 4 though has a historic meaning to me because of Beliveau and Orr. Present day Lecavalier is not bad.

I guess ill finally add my story to this thread.

I started wearing 7 when I was a mite/squirt as that was my dad's favorite # too. Then when I hit peewees I started to eclipse my dad in skill and whatnot, so I made my # 17 (still acknowledging my dad's influence on my love for the sport).

When I went to play Jr hockey 17 was taken by a vet, so I took 16. I was then traded, and the new team had a vet in both 16 and 17, so I moved to 15.

Now, im back to 17 and still giving props to my dad for all he did for me and my hockey career.
