What number do you wear

I wore #12 in college because #9 (my day of birth) was taken. My dad liked the number because he was born on 12/12. So #12 is my default number. Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy a jersey for my current team, so I'm stuck with a random jersey that has number #55.

We lost a guy who moved back to Canada and another guy stopped coming out. In a mix of jerseys up to this season we had 4 number 5s' a 55 and 3 9s' We're down to 3 5s' and 3 9s' this season. It gets us a lot of comments from the refs and the other teams.

It's beer league and nobody on our team really sweats the stats the league keeps.

#13, because when I was growing up Mats Sundin was in all the Nike commercials, and I'm a big right-handed player. Plus, no one ever wants 13, so I usually get it no problem.

19 for yzerman, 91 and 9 because 19 was taken. 29 and 49 because i like the way they look on a jersey. 4 was a mistaken order...and 18 because i didnt want 33 and thats what was left.

Anyone else make their preferred number the sum of two other numbers if it's taken? Like if 13 is gone, then I'd get 76 (7+6), 85 or 94. Hopefully or I'm going to feel OCD.

I wear 26 since it adds up to 8. I am the captain and can take whichever # I want. I just have to have two numbers on my back. YAY OCD

I'm currently wearin 18, just because I recently joined a new team and that's the jersey that got tossed to me. I wore 17 growing up so this is close enough.

Have always worn 9, but not this year. The night the coaches were making cuts i walked into their room and they just said you want #16 (the number i wore in pre season)? I figured they were just sort of assigning numbers, so I just said yeah. After, I found out that everyone got to pick their numbers. So, I tried to trade with the guy that got 9 but he wouldn't, I tried everyhting to get it :P ! So I ended up trading for #5. The only reason I traded 16 is because the numbers go up in size from 1-20 and 16 was too big.

14, ive always been the smallest guy on the teams ive played on and when i was younger a coach who promoted me to captain compaired me to theoron fleury when he handed me the jersey with the C on it and 14 on the back. a small guy with grit and work ethic but not necessarily the most talent. he was 5' 6" (i was probably 4' when i got compaired) and now im 5' 6" at the age of 21, how fitting a comparison.
