Any other HS Seniors I can share my pain with? Between keeping my GPA where its at, Hockey 65 hours a week, and getting my 13 applications out I think i might go mad within the next week or so.

I'm not a senior(next year), but I can feel your pain. Hockey plus science and history hw is too much. I'm ok in history with about a 75-80, but I'm getting killed in science after missing a few homework assignments here and there due to hockey and now I have a 56.

I'm already in college. Trying to transfer is a bitch as well :( Think theres a difference in doing an online application and actually sending one in? Pitt, OSU, WVU,PennState...tough choice :(

No difference, really. Do the electronic, it's a lot more convenient.

when i was a sr in highschool, really really stressful. i decided to apply to some safeties and then all the schools that wanted me to play for them.

the worst however was prep school apps, and for most i had to write 3 essays by hand

I'm a senior. To be totally honest with you, I'm having a blast. School has always been agonizingly simple and tedious for me, and most of my classes this year, with the exceptions of AP English and AP Government, are absolute jokes. Outside of the summer work I had to do for my AP courses (most of which I did the night before we went back), I have done maybe one hour worth of work while off of school grounds. I show-up to school, do very little, leave after 8th period, go to work until about 5:30 and spend the rest of the night at the rink. Wow: now that I think about it, I'm not so sure I want to graduate.

The only thing I am really have a hard time with is deciding whether I want to go play Juniors somewhere for a year or two, or if I should forget about it and just go straight to college. If I were to play, I would probably just end up playing for Buffalo, or maybe Hamilton (OPJAHL - *rolls eyes*), while I have already sent applications in to Michigan, Niagara University, SUNY Buffalo and Brockport and I am trying to decide if I want to send one in to Cornell.

I feel for you guys who are having a hard time with this. I can certainly see how this can very easily become an extremely stressful time for you other guys my age. I guess all I can do is wish you all the very best of luck and thank the Hockey Gods for somehow helping me to avoid such troubles.

Not yet ;)

As of now, the only team that has been in any kind of semi-serious contact with me would be the Buffalo Jr. Sabres (most members here would probably know them as the Lightning, as they just made the switch to "Jr. Sabres" this season). I've had a few "We'll see how you progress..." things with a couple other teams (my size - 155 lbs. - could be a bit of an issue), but nothing that I think will result in my going elsewhere.

The Cornell application is a BASTARD. I just finished it last week. In the grand scheme of things its not to bad, but when you have Tufts, Middlebury, Hopkins, and Georgetown to get done it gets tedious as all hell.

I'm sure you already know this but the area around Hopkins is somewhere you don't want to be. There are some great parts of Baltimore but they aren't near the school.

Its more or less in the projects. Fortunately its not too far from Inner Harbor.

Don't get a place near Fell's Point or graduation might be in danger. That and you'll have me banging on the door looking for a place to crash. Let me know if you decide to do a campus visit to either Hopkins or G-town. I'm about 90 minutes from either one.

Unfortunetly I found out I cant go to PSU main because of my major. They dont let transfers into that major or something, and I'd have to go to Behrend up in Erie. Don't wanna do that. Why is PA school so damn expensive?! I could go to WVU for cheaper than Pitt, and I'm a PA resident. WVU is under 5000 tuition for its residents, and Pitt is 11000 for its residents. Freaking insane, and every PA school I've looked at is like that. Even Robert Morris, which is a little school that just got University status, is creeping up on the WVU/Pitt numbers, and it only has 5000 new students a year. I hate it. Right now I'm applying at Pitt and RMU. WVU is out of the question, because...well.. that bitch broke up with me

Good luck with Cornell bro, i'm a freshman and i'm having the time of my life. This is the place to be for a hockey player, hands down. The entire campus buzzes on game days (getting season tickets was the best thing i've ever done). The atmosphere in Lynah Rink will blow you away...post-game parties aren't too shabby either.

How was everyones GPA for the first semester? I managed to pull out an A and 4 B's for my first semester. I didnt have "slouch" classes either for the most part.

I got my A in Intro to business and my other classes were Sociology,Algebra,Business Law, and Macro economics.

Do you think a 3.2 GPA will get me into any of the places I applied like Pitt and Penn State, or is it more or less how they feel about you as a person? I want to transfer next year instead of getting my associates here at home, cause I hate the community college I'm at. But, considering I know for a fact I didnt try or study all that hard (mistakenly) I'm hopin to pull it up a couple points for this spring semester. Anyways, hope everyone enjoys their break and the holidays, its tequila night!

Penn State can be hard to get in main campus for some programs. A lot of people do their first year or so at satellite locations.
