best puck feel shooting stick

Recommended Posts

I absolutely LOVE my Hex-1. It has GREAT feel, and it launches rockets. Seriously, go with this stick. I exepected it to break in 1 game. Not a hint of that at all through 8 games.

Just picked up a Hex-1 Grip 85 flex Elias for 129.99 cad from my lhs.....can't wait to use it tonight.

Wicked deal. What LHS is that?

Got it at Cyclone Taylor, last Elias in rh, I think they have 2 hull rh 85 flex I didn't check the leftys though, they only had the grip version.

hey i have been using the ccm vector, i think the puck feel is excellent but when i shoot slapshots with it, it just doesnt feel right it feels like it will break.

could i have opinions on the best stick for puck feel but that shoots like a beast and nice and tough and sturdy when you let a slapshot rip.

I have never used a vapor xxx stick but I heard it had great feel.

Yep, my brother has one and h loves it.

sorry to kindof steal the topic, but i thought i read on here once that the Response plus was just an XN10 repainted???  i was just wondering if it was true...

thats not true. The XN10 is slightly lights because of the "pure balance" in it. Thats about it as far as I know. It was basically Louisville battling the easton release of the stealth.

I thought the XN10 was out well in advance of the Stealth even being in the hands of pros?

Bringing back this thread from 4 years ago. I presume stick technology has improved the puck feel of composite sticks/blades. I'm still a shaft and wood blade guy. I've tried stickhandling and shooting with a few composites and I dislike the feel. The only composite I've actually used repeatedly is a Reebok Sickick pro stock and the feel is okay.

Those that have gone from shaft/wood blade to composite -- do you have an opinion on the the best composite puck feel? What sticks have you experimented with?

I went from shaft/wood blade to shaft/composite blade. I really, really like the AK27 blade from Warrior.

I've found that most manufacturers have gone to harder blades that have less overall feel than some of the older composite blades.

Is there a general consensus on which OPS sticks or insert blades have the best puck feel? I ask that already thinking that "it depends" on the person. I just can't stickhandle with my OPS like I can with my shaft/wood blade.

On another note, as per suggestions on this site, I inserted a wood plug in my OPS and it improved the feel dramatically (vibrations, especially). It even sounded different when tapped the blade on the ice.

Easton blades feel pretty good but have bad durability, Warrior is the opposite. I did like the Harrow comp blades though, but I don't like wood very much.

The Harrow composite blade that I have actually has surprisingly good feel to it. The NBH XXXX blade I have feels pretty dead in comparison. The Dolo 2 blade wasn't bad either. The XXXX and the Harrow are in different brands of shafts, not sure if that has any effect on things.

RBK O Sticks have amazing feel. I have used a variety of pro stock identical pattern Synergys, Bauer One95s and the O stick is noticeably better.

definately +1 on that...its a lil surprising...you know rbk should sell the o-stick as a dangler stick rather than a power stick...since nowadays most power sticks are also accurate w/ explosive kick blah blah blah
