The picture of the car you posted has clearly flipped several times. Of course the damge will be extensive on a fiberglass car that has flipped several times. Neith cars pictured in the article have flipped, thus the damage is more concentrated and less severe. Now Im not saying that the article is real, just making ana observation.

That story is a total bunch of BS. That car was smashed up in the southern US, then sent back to Ferrari about a year and a half ago, to be fixed. Now it is good as new.

Raising a child is the proverbial "lead them to the trough." You can try to give your children all the guidance possible, but they still have to make the right choices.

Ending up in pieces was obviously not the right choice.

When he turned 16 his dad bought him a 96 corolla and took him to HPDE's with an instructor in it. Slowest car out there, got passed by everybody, but it started to teach him how to drive appropriately in a fast situation. Moved up to a 98 camaro Z28 for a while, and for his 18th Bday they were taking him to another HPDE in it and when they got there his Dad handed him some keys and they pulled into the parking lot and there was an M3 sitting there with a bow on it. We've taken the 911 and the AMG clubbing and just driving around a few time, and he's by far and away the most responsible driver I've ever been in a car with, probably because his Dad helped him get that aggressive new driver angst out in a couple of mediocre cars instead of treating it like some forbidden palace that he can never touch, because that just makes you want to go after it more. Boy, that's a rant :P

Nothing beats going to a track and driving at speed - even if your car sucks. Get it out of your system and then drive normally on the roads. It'll keep you and others safe. It will also teach you the limits of the car and yourself - which aren't likely as high as you think.

As an aside, there's nothing more embarassing for the crappy drivers in hot cars to get beat on a road course by a POS car with half the power. So go on, hand it to them! ;)

What year 911? If it was before '99, then it's a car that shouldn't be driven by inexperienced driver as it can be difficult to handle (especially at high speeds).
