just a question ive been wondering about... how do teams decide when theyre wearing their alternate jerseys? do they just randomly decide or is there like a way they choose?

When they first came out they were "Sunday" jerseys for the Fox games. Now as most of them are dark, home teams can wear them whenever.

Just another random Q here as I didn't want to start another thread- has a tean ever had 2 injured goalies in the same game and had a player dress in goal? I have been wondering this for so long now and coulnd't figure it out.

Thats good advice, I'd take it anytime. (Personally I woud love to go in as a goalie, I've been dieing to try goalie again for quite some time)

I'm unaware of any NHL teams but I have heard of Minor Hockey incidents

Weirdest one I can think of is where the Canucks signed some goalie from a local college to dress for a game or something weird like that. Goalies got hurt, etc. and they needed someone in a jiffy. I dont know if he got to play or not, but he got to spend time in the 'nucks locker room.

One goalie got hurt in the Morning skate and Manitoba was out East on a road trip and there was no way to get a guy back for the game. They signed a college goalie to an amateur contract so it wouldn't kill his college career. I think they found him in the library studying for a test.

i remember watching a flyers game a while ago and they talked about what if both goalies got hurt what would happen and steve coates said that they would ask the spectators if they were a goalie and wanted to. im not 100% sure what all the procedures are but thats what they said

Hedberg was starting (Cloutier was injured), and the backup, Levesque was his name I think, almost got into the game when Hedberg injured his wrist or something. As Hedberg was shaking it off, the telecast director zoomed a camera in on Levesque chomping faster and harder on his gum. I think the announcing team was Garrett and Hughson.

When his team-mates found him in the library, Levesque thought they were pulling a prank on him...
