Supreme 90 Gloves

Recommended Posts

This is my 5 game road test of the gloves:

Until you have worn these gloves don't say anything. When I say these are the most comfortable hockey gloves I have worn in over 30 years I am not kidding. The beauty of these gloves when you play with them is simple: You don't even know you have them on. The gloves are incredibly light, they fit perfectly to your hands, they provide excellent protection, the stick responds to every move you make with your hands without that clunky feel of hockey gloves, and then you go to the bench after your shift and look at the gloves and say I can't believe how great these gloves are. It almost feels like your hands are faster with the gloves because they are so light and fit so well. NBH has taken the XXX palm to a new level. The palm feels great around your hand and stick. Look at the glove pix in the catalog. If you see how the gloves are pre-curved in the pix, that is how the glove is off your hand, so when you put it on it is already shaping around your stick. They may not be pretty but they are awesome. The XXX is comfy and light . The Supreme 90 is the same but at a higher level. My gloves are 14". The glove sizing is snug. I usually wear a 13" Cooper Pro nylon knit short cuff glove from the mid 90s. I like a short snug glove. The 14" fits perfectly. The guys with the big mitts will need 15" gloves. These gloves are like nothing before.

I wonder if NBH will observe the generally negative reaction to the aesthetics of the glove and fix that in the next product cycle. I hope it doesn't go the other way and we all start liking the look. I don't want skeletor hands.

When will these be available in stores and DarkStar any idea when you guys are getting them in. I live like 1 hour and a half from you guys and if you guys are near the Shorthills mall I could probably stop there.

the look will grow on you eventually. my guess is people will begin to like them as they become more popular in the league

get some big names in them and kids will be falling all over themselves to buy them

Are the thumbs locked like the 5000/SDP or does the top piece flex in like the XX?

The thumb is not like the SDP "traditional" thumb. There is no thumb pocket with the sewn tab. In the Supreme 90 your thumb moves with the palm. The palm is so comfortable with the stretch wrap lycra that the thumb can work and flex to grip your stick. The thumb is a bit similar to Vapor styling. It does have a sleeker look on the thumb. Once again, looks and the skeletor deal won't matter when you try these gloves on. They just perform.

The word from NBH is delivery after July 1 on the entire Supreme glove line. I wouldn't run to my LHS on July 2nd, though! The Supreme 70 looks good, too, without the heavy hit on your wallet. The Senior Supreme 70 will retail around $95-$100 while the Supreme 90 will be above $150US. Lets not get pissy about glove prices next. Nobody says you have to have any of these! But they will be hard to resist.

Compare Vapor XV gloves to Vapor XX gloves. The fit relates but the feel does get better with the Supreme 90 although Supreme 70 feel is very good, too. Think XV to XX and then XX to XXX.
