I loved Scarface. The scene where Tony buries his face into that huge pile of coke is priceless.

I thought Scarface was the definitive example of people agreeing with other peoples ideals of a great film. Having said that those people raving about it might genuienly like it, but i thought it sucked. Blow was a much better film.

if you like Scarface you should see the movie Blow, pretty good

nice... George Jung (the guy Blow is based on)... from my hometown of Weymouth, Mass. We're responsible for Jim Carey (the goalie), Tim Sweeney, and Cocaine in the United States.

Scarface is the ultimate "rags to riches" story, which is probably why so many rappers feel the need to "relate" to Tony Montana. When I rented a house with my bandmates, AT&T asked me for a name for caller ID, I said I didn't want it.. they insisted, so I used "Tony Montana".. people got a kick out of it. I was waiting for DEA to kick my door in.

If you want a REAL chuckle, watch Scarface on dvd, then catch the edited for TV version... such a hack job editing out the swears. I think the new special edition dvd actually has a feature on the "edited versions" and how hilarious they are...

Great movie, a little overrated though.

I really like how it's a movie about Cubans and there isn't one damn Cuban in any of the main roles.

Um...Steven Bauer...real name Esteban Echevarria...

What, you thought his grandfather started Bauer skates?

Ha, I guess you've never seen Que Pasa, U.S.A?

It's definitely a classic, but as SalmingUSA said, it hasn't aged too well.

AnthonyJTA mentioned the TV version...I have to agree. They must've used that one as a practice exercise for begginer tv-movie censorship editors.

Good movie but I don't see why every rapper has to have it in their DVD collection.

because they think they are gangsters?

Scarface is, at best, a decent movie. Watched it once, and don't necessarilly feel compelled to do so again anytime in the near future. It's impact upon today's popular culture speaks volumes, though I am unsure as to why so many people see it as being so influential.

I think you guys are too young to understand how it was when it came out...there was nothing like it. Very controversial, especially with the problems theyu were having trying to get the right rating for it.
