I did this using those steps 45 months ago. The id3 tags show up but only when you are playing the song through iTunes. When you are using windows explorer opening the files and clicking on the actual song file to play the song the file name is not preserved, it's some weird code. But it definitely still will work through iTunes and that's all I use anyways. PM me if ya got a question.

windows explorer? I dont get it, you mean Finder?

yea, like when you are looking for the file in your "My Music" file or under "My Computer". I don't quite know the vernacular. Just when you are individually trying to find the file on your computer ie Not using itunes.

Update:

My mom took my Nano to the Apple store today. They checked everything right there and it was a hardware problem and couldn't be fixed, so Apple hooked me up with a brand spankin' new Nano, which is being updated as we speak. Kudos to Apple Customer Service!

Alright, I've got a problem. I just downloaded a movie into my ipod using videora, and it plays in itunes and in my ipod except there is no sound. Can someone PLEASE help!

i jsut got my 30gig video today and i have that Dream On Ovechkin movie in my library but when i go to edit preferences and go to ipod then video it wont let me click nething in video...any help?

A song I have in iTunes (321 - Hedley, if it matters) works perfectly fine in my iTunes library but when I go to play it on my iPod, it goes all fuzzy and doesn't work. I've tried downloading other versions of the song, just to see if it's the song, but it's clearly not. Any ideas?

I'm having a problem with my new 60gb video iPod that I've never had with any of my other iPod's before. I have songs in my library, but I can't seem to add them to my iPod. Obviously space isn't an issue seeing as to how I only have 25 gigs of music. Any suggestions?

Not sure but did you check to see if it was on automatic update?

Yup, auto-update is on. What's weird is it updates all of the newer songs I add to my library, but not a handful of the older songs. There is probably a 50 song discrepancy between my library and that found on my iPod.

got a major new problem on mine.

it has a picture on the screen (this is a mini) and it has a check mark on the screen and it says "ok to disconnect" only thing is it didnt say that after i disconnected it. I listened to it for a while turned it off. came back next day with this sign on it and it wont go off, its frozen on it. i tried reconnecting it and see if it would work but nothing.
