Are there any retail curves like this one?

Recommended Posts

I have this prostock synthesis blade (tagged "smith") and I quite like the curve, but I don't really know what it would be like in a retail. A modo/forsberg or bauer PM9 maybe?

Just wanted to be sure before it lets go, because it's starting to feel sloppy.

Looks like a Sakic that's a little more closed...not sure if there's a closer retail pattern. CCM Recchi is also reasonably close although that's more of a toe curve and the Recchi is a mid-curve that's even more closed.

Sakic? nah not really.

A Forsberg or PM9 will be close. I would say it's in between them and a CCM Recchi (which has just slighty more curve)

Too much of a toe curve to be a forsberg.

Definitely not a sakic. Sakic has tons more loft, and a Sakic is a lie 5.5. This is a 4.5. Recchi is deeper than this with more of a square toe.

Take it into a shop and compare it. A picture of a curve is often misleading without some point of comparison.

Only thing is my LHS doesn't have an awfully great blade selection. They don't even have Drurys or Forsbergs in stock, and I don't really feel like driving 45 minutes to the good hockey store just to compare blades.

I was thinking of ordering some custom Christians instead, but I don't know if I can get this blade back if I send it in, so how would you even go about describing this? Like a mid-heel curve, ~15mm curve depth, closed face, round toe, 5 lie, medium blade length?

Again, without something to compare the lie and curve it could be just about anything. To me, it looks a lot like a Modano/Forsberg/Tkachuck/Hossa.

I am pretty sure you can get your pattern blade back. Some places like to keep them for reorders, but if you request.....
