The best thing would be to try them both on. I know the easton gloves once again have problems this year, they run way small, and aint that comfy. I haven't tried on the XV's, but if there anything like the XX's I would lean for them. The XX's are pretty nice. I'd still pick eagle over anything, but its all personal preferance.

This is one of the easiest decisions you'll ever make if you actually have tried on both gloves. The XV absolutely kills the synergy glove in every aspect. The XV is *very* comfortable and natural feeling, it offers good protection (not as much dual density foam as the synergy) and a great palm, with dri-fit gussets and adjustable cuff. It's a really great glove and for the price it's a steal. I have the XXs and have tried the XVs and I actually like the feel of the XVs a little better... and they're slightly lighter.

The synergy on the other hand (no pun intended) was the biggest letdown in gloves for me this year. I liked the z-air last year aside from the crummy wrist wrap thing (which they got rid of) so I had high hopes. Sadly it's nothing like the z-air. The glove is stiff, unnatural feeling and very cheap feeling as well. It's hard to believe in this day and age but the glove is just downright uncomfortable! The palm is "ok". I was really blown away by how poorly the glove felt and performed. I just can't see anyone dropping $100+ on them with many much better gloves at or well below that pricerange (Mission M-1, Bauer XV, TPS HGT, etc.).

I've said it before and I'll say it again, easton should just market the pro versions of the z-air, zero-shock and air and be done with it. They would sell like hotcakes and they're actually great gloves.

Go with the Bauers

Add me to the list, I've had a pair of Vapor XV's for about 6 weeks now and they are great! I haven't tried on the 20's ..but for the $, at least US wise, the XV's are one of the best deals out there (TPS R2's being another @ 69, and I have a pair of those as well)

I dont have a problem with Easton gloves however I have only tied on the Easton 2001 model (The one that Jermey Ronick currently uses) and I find it doesnt restrict any movement at all but that model didnt have the wrist wrap and one more thing, I dont know if this is suppose to happen to nash palms but during the game my sweat seeps through and wets the palm making it wet but soft but after the game it dries up and feels so dry and crusty. So my only problem with my pair of Eastons are that the palm could be better and thats where elite companies such as Eagle comes in but thats a different story. If I had the choice I would definitly go for the XX, It has dri fit liner which is awesome and all that adjustable cuffs sound like its going to be a fairly tight fitting glove. XX has Zoom air and I have no clue what that is but its in Nike shoes. So the XX is very good technology wise but I heard that the Synergy Glove offers sheep skin palms which is awesome but I could be wrong.

A question for you XV owners: how do you find the curve of the fingers? Is it naturally closed, or can you open up your hand pretty easily? I'm looking for a glove that I can easily switch between one and two hands holding the stick without the fingers getting in the way.

My muskoka zr900s have been great for that. I had a pair of mission injections that wouldn't stop closing on me when I took my lower hand off the stick or were just too closed to begin with, so I know what you mean, it's very annoying.

M-1's are awesome for that, very good finger control. I find thats important for numerous things, like you mentioned with your stick, and for grabbing other players infromt of your net, or tying them up along the boards, or blocking/catching the puck. M-1's are easily the best glove I have used for finger control.

The synergy gloves aren't horrible in design as they are just ridiculously tiny if you go by their marked sizes. 15 felt like a 13.5 tops. Someone really dropped the ball on the sizing. For comfort, I would go with the bauers.

they allow very fluid natural movement. No tough spots to work through in the range of motion. They both close and open very easily.

The rink down the street is blowing out all of teh Muskoka gloves at $40 a pair if anyone wants a pair.

Dan, I don't think they make a 15 though the sizes seem to run a little bigger than most. check the Muslola website for the actual details.

SB, I'll pop in tonight and check.

Damn, that's a great price for amazing gloves. Also, if anything ever happens to them, the great people from Muskoka hockey will bend over backwards to help you.

Would you say they fit big at all?

The ZR 900s are a 13.5" glove. THe zr950 feels much bigger than any 14" glove I've tried on and I've never triedo n the 970, but muskoka seems to make each glove bigger than the one under it. Also, I believe that Ljack wore 15" bauers and zr970s, so he will know better.

Edit- The 900s are a tighter fitting glove, but they can be made to fit more loosely by taking out one of the top of hand pads. It's a great feature, I keep the pad in there because I like a snug fit, but you can take it out and they'll feel looser.

i have a pair of ZR900's, the fit around the palm is pretty good and the cuff is really flared, but it seems the fingers are a little short, sometimes, my fingertips would crunch up up against the tip and it was fairly distracting <_< i also don't and my hands aren't very big. as for comparison, i had some 13.5 nike ignite 2s before, and they got too small, but the 900's had plenty of room, so i'd say muskoka sizing is .5 - 1 inch larger than nikes
