List Pros who use only wood

Recommended Posts

Interesting that Nagy uses like 1 inch width of tape on the blade.

I would add Freddy Modin...he was sporting some NBH woodies early in the season. Then went to a Dolomite and scored a bit, and seems to have stuck with it cause of that.

Roman Hamrlik uses wood sticks made like the old Koho Torpedo woodies but with CCM Vector wood stick graphics.

When Nagy played here in Halifax he used that same tape job on his old Bauer Supreme woodies i think they were.

Didn't Modin have tennis elbow or something similar which originally prevented him from using OPS and composite shafts?

doesnt wellwood use a one90?

Now he does, but the list was made a while ago.

Even then, I wouldn't be shocked if it is a painted over woody.

I have no clue...that might be it. I recall him using Vapor XXX Lites in preseason, then went to a NBH woodie. Dunno which model, it was a natural color. But I figured he was just testing the composites out during preseason and decided to go back to wood. Also interesting he dropped NBH altogether and went for the Dolomites.

**Ok well now come to think of it...maybe Modin was using wood all along. Maybe his XXX Lite was like Nagy's.

Weren't Lindros' sticks all woodies painted to resemble various OPS (XX, etc...)?

no, i don't think they were wood at all. he used bauer triflex's while with the rangers. i know because someone i play with works for the rangers & ended up taking home a few dozen of the sticks lindros left behind.

One of Lindros' coaches in NY forced him back to woodies because he was snapping so many OPS on face offs.

that makes sense. probably why he left the ops behind.
