Flyer announcers

Ok, I get the whole rough and tumble organizational viewpoint. They still want to play like they did in the mid-70s and I understand that. That said, I'm watching the re-broadcast of the Philly-TB game from earlier tonight and the announcers are just plain annoying me. Hatcher gets a penalty for "checking" a guy with both hands to the face and they go nuts. I know we've talked about announcers before but man, I'm starting to wish they were subject to fines.

You have to admit though, the officiating was horrible, I mean after the hit that Hatcher put on Richards he was jumped by Craig and Kubina butt-ended him in the face with his stick. After all of that, Hatcher was the one thrown out of the game and given a 5 minute boarding call which was bs because Richards turned at the last possible second. TB took a 2 minute penalty, whoop dee doo. Also they made some terrible calls on Lecavalier, I mean the one time I think it was Dejardins who grazed Lacavalier's hip and Lacavalier got called for tripping. He didn't even know he was the one getting the penalty as he skated back to his bench and laughed as the gave him the call. And also, something to keep in mind or think about with Hatcher is that at 6'5", hes going to be bigger than a lot of guys and his checks are likely to be higher up of else it would be impossible for him to get good hits in.

I'm usually one to really like Coates, Jackson and Dornhoefer. Sometimes they go a little overboard, but a lot of the time I have to agree with them. I didn't catch most of the game last night, so I can't vow for if they were right last night.

The boarding major on Hatcher was just as wrong as the instigator on Lecavalier. The thing with the boarding call was Hatcher's first contact is to the head. Just like a couple of Gauthier's hits. There were a couple penalties that they probably shouldn't have called, like the trip on Vinny, but a few more that they should have called.

Vinny had 21 minutes, and he didn't do anything that justified more than one 2min. How can you give him a penalty for going after the guy that checked him after the goal, it may have been a legal hit but come on use your head. We all knew the second that he got hit that he wasn't just going to take it... Man, I hate the flyers.

Gauthier hit him in the head after the puck was in the net. Then when Vinny got up and went after him, Gauthier threw the first punch. I thought Tampa got hosed more than the Flyers did.

I was wondering what went on with that play, I was kind of half watching the game and didn't get a good look at what happened. All I saw was Gauthier throw the late hit and Vinny get up and go after him. Couldn't believe Philly came out of that with a power play.

flyers annoucers are the worst, annoucers are supose to be homers, but the flyers annoucers are the worst.

if a flyer checked someone from behind, and no call was made, they wouldnt say anything, but if the flyer got checked from behind they would be talking about it for 10 minutes.

Normally they're only a little annoying, last night was really brutal. Probably the worst I've ever heard. The Leaf radio guys are pretty bad with the complaining too.

Devils TV guys are about as homerish as you can get.

And overreacting also. Emerick goes nuts like they just won the cup if Brodeur makes a glove save on a wrister from the red line.

Most team guys are, I just get sick their bitching about the officiating. It's March, they should be used to it by now.

They love it too, the new NHL gives them free range to bitch about EVERYTHING! They recall so many missed calls and use it all of the time.
