The ratio of lefties to righties is weird

The whole NHL is like that.

But most of them are right handed

Its the way you are SUPPOSED to shoot.

(meaning if you are right handed, you SHOULD be using a lefty stick).

Thats what every coach I have had said to date has and what I thought was general knowledge

P.S.

All of the power in your shot should be coming from the top hand. When you handle the puck your top hand should be doing all the work while the bottom hand acts as a guide. The same goes for shooting.. most of your power should come from your top hand.

If your top hand is the hand that you write with, then you are holding your stick correctly.

I personally hold the stick with my master hand on the bottom. It was a mistake that I made when I picked up hockey.

So YES, according to general hockey knowedge.. you are shooting incorrectly. I am happy to clear that up for you. If you need anything else "cleared up" feel free to make another smartass comment and I will continue to "clear it up" for you..

“In order to best use the stick to your advantage, the top hand should be your hand of dexterity. You have to be able to handle the stick, and there are times in the game when you have to play one-handed. To have control, you need your strong hand on top,†says U.S. Women’s National and Olympic Team Head Coach Ben Smith.

What a horrible coach. I would think it'd be useless to chastise someone for how they shoot when there's obviously nothing they can do about it now.

Nah, that's just an all-chrome SL. It has the 05 Easton lettering (square)

Vinny's stick is the new Vector 10.0. Thornton's shaft is a True-Temper made 10.0.

check out the tape grip near the handle on the goalie sticks (far left) Never seen that before, but looks like a good idea.

Is that one90 a shaft? i'm not sure if it's been stated before, but will it come to retail as a shaft?

Im holding my stick wrong as well! Oh well, I guess its 10 yrs in now, It will take me another 10 yrs to learn it lefty at this rate! ;-)

My best mate has a 2 yr old that likes to have a wack of the old souvenir hockey stick he has. Incidently he ALWAYS picks it up right hand on top (making him a lefty). They all say that's his natrural preference. But my theory is that he is simply mirroring his dad, who is a righty. One of the many mysteries of the world I guess...

I heard something on CBC over the weekend. I guess nowadays right shooting defensemen have become somewhat of a commodity (71% D men are left handed accordign to an ealier post) and with only 5-6 d men dressing, the announcers were saying LH Defensemen were becoming like Lefthanded pitchers in baseball.

The sticks belong to Nikita Alexeev.
