Oconnell fired

Recommended Posts

I know it's wrong but everytime I hear the owner's name I think of Caddyshack. "This is a private club Wang, don't tell them you're Jewish."

Mike is just the only one I can think who would guarantee ineptitude for at least another couple years in Boston, and he;s a former Bruin. That seems to matter.

Oh, I totally see what you are saying, but what Wang has offered him was not hockey-related. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Slimy bastard.

Isn't Millbury going to be running that BS Islanders:Asia project after the season's over?

He was talking about it on MSG right after he was quasi-fired.

huh?, what is this "project"? The islanders scouting asia?

Pretty much, they have what the Daily News has reported as an empty office over in asia.

I sent Larry Brooks of the New York Post a letter yesterday and told him to apply for the job. All this guy does is complain about the new CBA screwing players out of $, like Joe Hockey Fan cares if Jagr gets paid by Rangers or Caps. With Brooks' Master in Capology, he could shut up and show Jeremy Jacobs how smart he is. I do feel bad for the die-hard Bruins fan. There is no hope in Beantown. at least you guys have college hockey 24/7.

Changes nothing.  Same owner = same crap.

End of discussion.

Maybe, maybe not. If, as speculation suggests, Sinden is put out to pasture then there is a slight possibility that the culture could change with the right new president/gm. I think Harry was more of the problem and with Charlie Jacobs admitting to the marketing struggle their faced with after this season there may be a shift in focus over the next couple years.

I remember hearing something about the upper office being upset that Oconnell was resigning guys before the season was over (Thomas, Axellson).

I dunno, Chippa, I've always felt that Sinden was the mouth piece for Jacobs, so even if Harry is gone I think the replacement would be philisophically similar.

Jacobs is obviously an astute business man but, to produce a winner, it seems there has to be some level of emotional thinking involved. Jacobs seems too calculated and Charlie talks like he's a chip off the block, so I think whoever ends up in charge is not going to be too different.

This is where we get the chance to find out. I think with the performance this season and the number of empty seats growing by the game Jacobs' hand may be forced.

It is interesting to see that Jacobs has been distancing himself from Harry lately.
