I was wondering how many pairs of skates people on this forum have.

If more than 1 pair, is one pair wearing out / outgrown / bad fitting? or why did you get the 2nd pair; good deal / better technology / impulse buy?

I have 1 pair of G5s and a pair of 709s. The 709s are about 3 years old but still in really good shape, and the G5s are less than a year old. I have two pairs because I kept breaking steel at the beginning of the season and I wanted a back-up pair of skates. I usually use the 709s in practice and the G5s in games.

I've got...

Easton Synergy 500 custom roller

CCM RH970 Tacks for skating outside

Bauer Supreme 4000 for ice

Nothing compared to the collection of one of the guys I play with, I think he's got 7 pairs, possibly more!

Nike Flexlite 10 - Love this skate but only used when I go to public skating sessions.

CCM Vector Pro - Took out the E-Blade Pro and got the LS2 on it. The fit of the Vectors with the feel of LS2. Mmmm orgasmic

I skate 5-6 times a week so I have different skates for different purposes:

Bauer 7000 - pro stock - Has the best protection/support for high level games. These are starting to die so I try not to overuse.

Vapour 10 - pro stock - Newer skates, average speed games

Vapour XX - pro stock - A lot less protection - refereeing

2 pairs: i used to play roller before starting ice...

1. pso stock easton z-air comp se... very very very stiff, pro stock laces, composite outsole, extra eyelets, came with tuuk lightspeed, custom rocker, size 8.25 D/E... made for darcy tucker. very nice, i use these all the time now. cost me $500, i accessorized them with pink laces... rock on dude

2. CCM tacks 252... only cost me $60. first pair of ice skates, way too big 10d, i kept tripping over my edges. also i was skating barefoot so they pretty much disintegrated after about 4 months.

2 pairs not including roller (which would be an additional 2 pairs)

I use my ill-fitting Bauer XVs for outdoor/pond hockey and my Bauer 8000s for league/indoor hockey.
