$60 for the first purchase?! im sure the NHL teams can afford that bu the bottles look tiny! Seems like a good conceptsa but how can us everyday people afford that?

Us everyday people should just stick to working on our cardio and anaerobics.

Actually, Most of us beer leaguers play our games at 10pm after a long day at work. A little boost of o2 is way better than the caffine we've been using! :P

Pilots have for years used pure o2 to stay focused. I see no problem with it, makes perfect sense. But will the masses pay that kind of bucks.

How many "puffs" are in a bottle?

Oxia FAQ

Not very specific in the FAQ. Can anyone provide a good answer. I'm thinking of ordering but if it only lasts a period or two it would get kind of pricey.

I like the concept but I'm curious what the effects of longterm or overuse would be -- and also what would constitute overuse. Is twice a game too much? Ten times? Fifty? Or would one have to take 1000 hits? Or are there NO adverse affects?

SRI, you should suggest that they put some medical input onto their website.

it's oxygen. the long term effect may be over saturating your blood with oxygen. this would be a similar effect to hyperventilation. also, since that will temporarily reduce the concentration of bicarbonate ions in your blood, reducing your sensitivity to oxygen deprivation, it may cause you to over exert yourself and starve your brain of oxygen without realizing it. though that would take quite a bit of sniffing

Reading pays off again:

a single bottle, with oxygen for 12 to 15 uses...

Use Oxia, and you too can score your team's 4 goals in an NHL playoff game...

On the 120 mL bottle, it lasts 2 - 2 1/2 minutes, which equates to 40 - 50 "breaths." A use is considered 3-5 "breaths" if you will. It is all determined by the user and the amount of time he/she keeps the bottle "open."

Interesting. Does it require a prescription?

To get 100% oxygen, it does. Since Oxia is 90%, no.

Just asking because I'm a Respiratory Therapist. Can't see any bad problems with it. Sounds good. Thanks JR.

worth a shot..lol

I might be able to hook you up with a few sample hits. You basically know where I live. If you're lucky and if I have a sample bottle, I'll hook ya up.

Might cost ya a pro Hull M1 that Riley promised and never delivered. Actually, I'd even pay for the stick AND give you a bottle on that one!

Better yet, why not just have Medicare deliver a green bottle of O2 right to your door!

This is not totally novel. I remember watching a playoffs game in the nineties, and the CBC commentaries were talking about how the teams were using oxygen tanks? I think. On the bench.

It was either in Calgary or Denver. Sorry I can't remember.

I remember playing baseball in Mexico City in the early 90s and having little oxygen masks because of the smog/altitude. Now it's just more convenient more than revolutionary.

The nitrogen content kinda scares me a bit. I get nasty-ass headaches when I drink beer from one bar I go to. They use so much CO2 to pump the beer through the tap lines, I get drunk quicker and nasty headaches later in the night then the next morning. I complained about it to someone, and a guy told me it could be the nitrogen too. That nitrogen in the blood isn't a good thing.

I dunno if this is true, but if I get that off 2 or 3 beers, a can of Oxia might make me brain dead. I'm sure I'm wrong, I'm just conscientious about nitrogen nowadays.

sorry #96, nitrogen isn't CO2. regular air contains about 78% nitrogen, so i don't see how 10% would affect you lol

Yeah, it would be the CO2 content making you feel ill, CO2=Carbon Dioxide, N2=Nitrogen, which at a level of 10% wouldn't cause any sort of problem, the only problem that I've heard of with Nitrogen in the blood is divers assending too quickly not allowing their bodys to adjust and pure nitrogen bubbles accumulate in the blood stream becoming caught in joints, which I don't think would be a problem for us playing hockey, lol.
