ItalianSpartan 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2006 Youngblood by far for me...I think it's easier for us to relate to or at least dream of...Not a bad story. Miracle was awesome as well/Slapshot was just retarded and useless to me Slapshot, useless and retarded? I'd say that's blasphemy.

I can't argue w/ the #of people who love it...I watched it when I was younger and thought it was OK. But during more recent times I watched it again and I couldn't even get through the whole thing.I would watch any of the mighty duck movies before slapshot, and that is pretty damn bad God Theo,Well i guess everyones different. Guy Incognito 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2006 Slapshot sucks? Sacrilege. :( Anyway, the point of this post- after I sarcastically made the claim of the GOAT being The Cutting Edge, some ref that goes to open skate during the same sessions I go asked me if I'd ever seen it. He was telling me how great it was watching a hockey player become a figure skater. I wanted to push him down on the ice.
j8Zt8r 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2006 Slapshot and Miracle definately. Can't leave out Mystery AlaskaWe can not forget the great game in Strange Brew either.

He was telling me how great it was watching a hockey player become a figure skater. I wanted to push him down on the ice. That explains some officiating I've seen. I think anyone guilty of making comments like that should get their officiating license taken away. And yeah, Les Chiefs gets a vote from me. Good stuff. I've heard great things about slapshot, everyone on my team was shocked I hadn't seen it and we were planning to watch it one weekend but never happened. Next season. I'll have to check that out, sounds like a lot of guys like it.By the way, for those of you who haven't seen Slapshot- it's one of those movies with slapstick humor and great quotable lines. :)

Jim A 4 Report post Posted May 21, 2006 Theo - the low moment of my going to NHL games was when they had some of the Mighty Ducks kids at MSG duing a game one year and they did some between periods stuff on the ice..you'd think after a few years of making movies and such..there'd be some discernable skills..but no..I'll always love Slapshot...a good end to those bad days.. warrior37 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2006 slapshot, youngblood, strange brew is a good canadian cult classic, id like to check out "road hogs" and les chiefs, also a very intense hockey movie: gross misconduct
bucko 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 slapshot is my absolutely favourite hockey movie, it´s just great! second best for me is miracle, it´s just an amazing hockey story, best thing is that it´s a true story...i like youngblood (in germany it´s called bodycheck) sure it´s a (rob)low story but for me it´s classic! pure 80´s dramatic...worst of all time: slapshot 2!!! it is just not funny, and makes hockey players look like circus animals, a few tigers and a lot of monkeys, bad movie.all of that mighty ducks movies are just not necessary, it is like one guy said in his post, i hate the knuckle puck thing.... just bare knuckles thats all... hockechamp14 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 whoever mentioned HE double hockey sticks, it's a good kid's movie I remember watching it when I was younger, the move the main character does is BRUTAL though, it's like he's ovechkin, but only has one move!Anyhow, Miracle is the best general movie of all of them, but Youngblood defenately deserves a tip of the hat for a hockey movie though!
