hockeysew 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 Glad to see they nabbed one of the key players in events over there................Now the only problem is how many other extremist's are more than willing to take his place? We will never achieve total peace against the mindset of fanatics unfortunatly and as long as we have troops over there the opposition will see it as an occupation. As a result there is no quick end in sight. :( Kinda scarey when my oldest kid is prime draft age
ponty 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 I am holding out for Osama ... I still feel a ton of rage for that SOB and have not forgotten.
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 We will never achieve total peace against the mindset of fanatics unfortunatly and as long as we have troops over there the opposition will see it as an occupation. As a result there is no quick end in sight. :( I agree to an extent. Muslim extremists have killed other Muslims for not following their interpretation of the Koran, so it's obvious they will NEVER accept the mores of the West. Thus, it's beginning to look dubious whether there will ever be a positive resolution to our time in Iraq.It seems humans generally fight over three disagreements: religion, possession and skin. I've always felt if we could eradicate religion, we'd only have to kill each other over who owns the big house on the hill.

ponty 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 Nothing wrong with Relgion minus the people who try to manipulate it, including our country btw, for there own benefit.Key for me is to respect others beliefs and realize that there is various levels of validity to them.Almost every war in Western Civ is due to this lack of respect and relgion in general. Amazing how we (e.g. Earth) respeat the same mistake.

SO dumb...I went to catholic school from grades 1-12 and I can tell you, after being there for so long, its all a crock. Get rid of religion and the world would be a better place, at least, in my opinion.Zach
Vapor 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 people need something to believe in, tho. I am an agnostic, a professional fence sitter. It is one step up from atheist. You are not saying there is a god, but your not saying there isnt one. I went to catholic school also, and well, Im jaded.

I hate those chicken skin hating terrorists. Dude i buy chicken FOR the skin.On a serious note, I don't think they will find Osama, he is hidden in the middle of mountains with hundreds if not thousands of brainwashed morons willing to give their lives to save him. Its like searching for a needle in a haystack, but i hope i am made to eat my own words on this one.
Duder84 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 religion is a funny thing. do people manipulate it? yes. but a lot of the problems comes from the fact that religions don't evolve. when they came up with all the rules, they never dreamed the world could be like it is today, where everyone actually tries to get along without hating each other. extremists are extremists because they interpret their religious beliefs down to the word. as people today, we not only have to respect other religions, but we also have to realize religion too, has to evolve, though that may never happen

bucko 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 mmmhh, chicken skin!i think, the biggest problem in our worlds history and future is ignorance and unknowledge.look, everybody in this forum believes in somewhat, no problem right? so i was raised catholic, not the worst thing it´s just traditional in our place, ni ine thinks about it, so i think i wouldn´t be a bad person if i would be muslem or jew or a rangers fan... fact is that those so called muslim terrorists are just business men, what they are doing has nothing in common with the koran... religion imo is made from people for people, nothing bad about it, but that changes if it turns into extreme, even the christs were bad motherfuckers back in the days when we tried to bring jesus christ all over the world...for me as a german, i learned from our sad history and i am more open to all kinds of different cultures... for example my sister lives in the states now for more than ten years and her husband is a jew, what makes her believe jewish too... :D
Vapor 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 Alright, alright, I should have said 'skin color'! I was just trying to make it flow with one word responses.... :D I dont think that the color of the chicken skin should matter. I believe a skin should be judge on the content of its tastiness, and not on the color of its skin.
Duder84 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 actually what they are doing now is exactly what the koran says, to take the life of those who do not abide by the koran....thats what i mean when i pointed out they are following their religion's words. I'm not condoing their actions by any means, just saying they have not evolved beyond those words.
Vapor 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 I believe The Jews have been the biggest targets of racism over the past few years. I have a friend, his name is pat, and I didnt know what religion he was, so I was like, are you a jew? And he was like HEY ,easy Jim, Im Jewww-ish

bucko 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2006 but that is what the koran makes so strange for me, i know a few people who are muslims and from time to time we come to the point to talk about religion. and while talking about it, we notice very often that there are a lot of things who are common between the essentials of the koran and the bible...the real big problem is how you read it... and i guess those fuckin terrorists just read what they want to see...look it is written in the bible (dunno how to translate from german) there is only one god, jesus christ.so i can read i should not have more gods, or i can read there should be no gods, eccept jesus. so when there should only be my god why not kill all the others...thats the point... idiots just idiots! (hope you got my point) ;)
