Chris Chelios grew up in my town. When Detroit won the cup in 02 Chelios brought the Stanley Cup to our village hall to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.

When he did that, i was chillin' at his crib with the rest of his family.

Off the top of my head Brian Lawton, Bryan Berard, Mathieu Schneider, Garth Snow, Lou Lamoriello (not a player I know), Jeff Jillson, Kieth Carney (played roller w/ his brother, other brother used to or still does work for Sports Authority around here somewhere), and that's all I can think of.

Some of the above may not have been born in Rhode Island but played highschool here.

My dad played on Brett Hulls team way back when in squirts I think. My grandparents owned a bar and Bobby Hull had his 19th birthday party there too and he got pretty wasted and my grandmother put him to sleep on a cot they had upstairs. I talked to Bobby a few months ago and asked him about it and he still remembers that night pretty cool I guess. Yea nobody from my hometown except a few college players and juniors players.

I grew up playing with Ethan Moreau from the Oilers in Huntsville, Ontario until I was 11 and then he started playing an age group above us as it was a small town (10,000 people) and he was obviously that much better than the rest of us.

Moved to Peterborough at 12yrs old, there are more players from there or who played for the Petes, and went on to the NHL than you can shake a stick at, crazy hockey town...

guy named Colin Shields.

he got drafted by the flyers.  only ever guy from the UK to be drafted into the NHL. he played ECHL for numerous teams, NCAA Maine Bears, and many more.

coolest thing is... he used to live in my street. :)

Tony Hand?

Yep, Tony Hand's also drafted in the NHL and played on the same line as Gretzky for one game. He told me that he preferred the Edinburgh atmosphere rather than the Edmonton so that's why he came back. Great guy though, shame he had to move to Manchester.

Cam Ward from Sherwood Park, Alberta :(

Same.

Mike Rathje is too.

If you go to the Arena they have pictures of all the guys who made the show, there must be 50 or so.

David Oliver - NHL/AHL

He lives a couple houses down from me in the summertime, when I live out here in Kelowna. Play golf with him lots, good guy.

Lando you lived in Huntsville?? I played juniors there this year. Alittle on the small side.

I'm from NJ, so theres really not too much. The ones I can think of are Brian Lawton, Jim Dowd, Paul Mara. Then theres Brian Miller (AHL), Bobby Ryan (OHL), Boby Sanguinetti (possible 1st rd pick) and a few D1, minor leaguers, and NTDP kids.
