Thats just a computer rendering, no way it will look like that in game. Even if its a next gen console it won't look that good.

Actually NHL 07 is currently in production until they release the game. The way I see it, it is made of the same game engine as the NHL 06 but I'm sure there's gonna be a lot of tweaks and new features...

As far as the graphics on the screenshots, don't worry about it, those were just rough textures...Im a 3d artist and I understand texturing takes a hell lot of time.

08 will have changes for sure but the odd years usually suck and are building on to the previous year's game.

There are a few big issues with Dynasty in 06 -- for one, why the HELL can't I do a FANTASY draft when making a new Dynasty, but I can in Season? Makes no effing sense.

Secondly, they need to recode the PC version to really take advantage of the mouse/keyboard when it comes to roster management, trading, stats, etc and so on -- it's not that hard... really.

I just wish the dynasty mode flowed better -- off-season is horrible and pointless and prospect/rookie development is poor and sorely lacking depth.

For the first time since '91 or so I didn't even bother with EA's hockey last year. I probably won't do it again this year, either. They're getting more and more geared to the hardcore gamer every year and it's hard to enjoy playing because you have to re-learn so much every year.

The Create-A-Player option in 06 was exactly like something from an old Tiger Woods PGA Tour game. Can't remember what year though.

Maybe they should do special celebrations for Ovechkin. The ones in the video seem a bit... un-Oveckinlike.

That was to be expected in my mind and I hope he will not be jinxed now that he's on the EA Sports NHL 07 cover. Has any one seen a report on EA Sports NHL games where all the players who were on the cover either got serious injuries, illnesses or bad season when they were on the cover? It actually happened to the past 10 players or so I believe. It's like if they were jinxed or something. Iginla got a sub par season the year he was on the cover, Lemieux got injured/sick, vinny Lecavalier had a sub par year last season etc. I can't remember all the players involved and all the different incidents/bad season associated with each but if I was Ovechkin I'd be warry lol
