Stupid move by FSN, Lange is one of the all-time greats. And they replaced him with Stiegerwald, one of the most despised sportscasters in the city. I remember when he did color for Lange. He would say something stupid and there would be a pause and you knew Lange was thinking what a jacka$$ Paul was. He would then return to the play as if Steigerwald hadn't even spoken.

1) It's been made very clear here in Pittsburgh, FSN controls who calls the TV side, the Pens have NOTHING to do with it. They only get to choose the radio announcers. They offered Lange the radio position the same day FSN fired him.

3)He's had to endure Bob Errey for the past few, he and Edzo were great together.

4)That's not my impression, but I do think he's actually better on radio.

I'm shocked if FSN calls the shots on the TV guys, then again they really overpay for broadcast rights so they deserve that right. Something like $9M a year, one of the most expensive deals in the league.

I recall Lange fighting with Olczyk on a regular basis. He's better on radio becuase you can't see how wrong and behind the play he gets.

They may have fought, but from what we've heard around here, Lange was one of the first to call and talk to Eddie when he got fired and Eddie was one of the first to call Lange when he got fired. They apparently have a lot of respect for each other.

Glad to hear they are friends but they were terrrible together on the air. Not that they're any better on their own.
