International shipping question

Recommended Posts

So... are Warrior products allowed to be shipped overseas? Cos most companies ie. NBH and CCM refuse to send stuff over internationally, which is a mighty bother cos my LHS doesn't stock much apart from low-end equipment and Ballistik sticks.

Anyone?

I was trying to get a quote for the Vector 10.0 skates and told them I lived in the UK and said "Sorry but we can't send this overseas. It's by manufacturer's request"

Alot of companies have started doing this, to protect their European distributors and shops.... costing us more $$$$

But if you live in europe you should check out.

www.hockeyoffice.com

www.hockeyworld.de

No +25taxes, and 12euro shipping fee only.

Oh okay, maybe these compagnie will have no problem to ship in North America but not europe.I'm sorry i'm not helping a lot.

I can give you one tips:EBAY...guys that sell on ebay, 80% of them doesn't matter where they ship as long as they can sell their item!. There is a lot of people on ebay that are actually store but selling on ebay so even if the vector 10.0 of your size is not there, doesn't mean that they don't have it.

So search for ebay store or buy it now item if your search doesn't come up with something fine with you.

Really? Most of the eBay sellers are complete douches, refusing to send to Europe.

My friend has relatives in USA that might be willing to ship here. But I'll have to find out once he's back from holiday.

Yes and when we find these ebay guys who are bypassing manufacturer rules, we turn them in so they loose their accounts. They are screwing with the marketplace, that's why it's not allowed. Why must everybody break rules? Don't you understand that a big reason companies don't sell overseas or that the prices are high is because their home country has very restrictive import regulations that make prices high. You folks who live overseas, blame your own country, your politicians.

Okay can you tell me then, why a compagnie like CCM who say on their high-end skate made in canada designed in Canada. And their stuff is based here in Montreal. Why do we still pay around 100-150$ (with the currency) more a pair of skate that IS MADE IN CANADA.

Come on jimmy, relax.I think 80% of your last week post was to complaining about buying on Internet.Like I said, I'm a 16yr old guy and for stuff that is IMPORTANT and need fitting i will buy them at my hockey store. As for the rest, I don't care, i buy them where i find them the cheapest:Ebay. Why taking the money of a teenagers, why not ask Nike some subvention to have a nice NBH display and stuff like this to help your store.

Manufacturer policies don't seem to stop some of our members who run shops with their ebay stores. It's the one thing they seem to be allowing after actually starting to enforce the international sale policies.

Actually, eBay is allowed if a minimum price and/or BIN is set. It is not considered an auction-type sale if that is done.

Even when those prices are below the minimums or the company has a "no online price" policy? If so, that's a very recent change.

CobrAA, I'd just like to see the ebay policies enforced. And yes when I see scammers, whether buyers or sellers I do like to highlight it. I'm not sure what you do for a job, but lets say there was a bulletin board related to your job and you were on it and REPEATEDLY saw posts on there with folks trying to scam that could potentially cost you your job, are you saying you wouldn't comment at all? I'm not "stealing" money from the hands of poor teenagers, It's actually the reverse. Anytime someone sees something on ebay then goes down to their LHS to check it out, try it, feel it, or flex it, they are in a sense stealing from the LHS.

I don't have a problem if dealers on ebay sell the stuff and their price is reasonable, but when they are low-balling frequently, then what incentive is it for the LHS to even carry the product. Let's face it, if I set up a bogus account on ebay and was selling One90's for $399, just how many people would be going to their dealers and pay $600 for them. Just about everyone is ebay savy now a days. Sure the dealers would get a lot of folks coming in and trying them on, but that's about it.

I'd be interested in knowing the real answer to cobrAA's question. Correct me if I'm wrong but in this case it appears like the buyer is just trying to by-pass the company's price-gouging by ordering on-line.

I understand, and i've never been against you jimmy, you have helping me with some things here about skate and stick repair lol!

I understand your ''point of view''(if we can call it like that) but you also need to understand my idea...I make around 200-250cnd per month, you know a good hockey bag worth around 1250-1500$cnd. So i need to always look for the cheapest i can. This is said, i will never buy a pair of skate online or glove, i also bought my 8000 helmet in an hockey shop. But for the rest, i know i need 16 inch shin or L pants, when i know my sizing, i don't even bother going to the LHS and see which one fit the best. And if I don't...i will buy at the store.

I know in USA it might be different, but in montreal, i've got like 10 hockey store all within 25 minutes of driving, Which one should I support??

CobraAA,

Believe me I understand your situation. I'm all for saving money online/ebay, I do it all the time. If you don't have a lot of money, then that's the way to go. Some people enjoy getting a great deal on ebay, me too. I just bought a nice tv/tuner USB card used once for $9.99, it would have cost me $79.99 at Circuit City. However, I would never think of going to Circuit City and have a salesman explain features, configurations, installation, etc for that card knowing I was going to bid on ebay for it and had no intention of ever buying it there. I've been very clear on my opposition to ebay/online buying and it is in only in regards to dishonest people who abuse their LHS and use them as a showroom for online purchases. That's my main beef. One reason so many on these boards hate when I bring it up is because they do it all the time. Not saying you do, but many do.
