5hole... you have the luxury of being that CLOSE to keith... give him a call and try some skates out. Not that easy for me in Oz, so I had to trust him on the sizing (which was still perfect).

I got my baking info from Butch at Torspo, and I've baked mine a couple of times at 170 for 7.5 minutes. I stood in them and pushed my heels into the cups as hard as I could, and made sure the bones at the mid outside of my feet (the widest part of my foot) had spread room. I leaned into them a good bit, too. I didn't killer lace them cause the wrap is already built in.

Thanks Keith. I'll try them out as is and then if I have any discomfort I'll get them baked a second time using those instructions instead of the more conservative 5 minutes with no standing or movement. Oh, and the chassis is mounted very nicely, but whoever mounted them accidently forgot to push down one rivet - that was an easy fix though and was taken care of in about 10 seconds while I was getting my ice skates sharpened yesterday. I'm certainly not worried about that little thing though as the mount is great, you shipped them right away and via the method requested so I avoided insane brokerage fees ect. The guy at the LHS said he's done the same thing before when he gets busy so it happens.

Keith,

I'm somewhat close to you. If I buy off of the website is there an option for local pickup. I'm not worried about the shipping fees, just would want me skates as soon as I could get them.

hey keith,

im sitting on a set of size 8.75 (9) one90's and medium sprungs, the T-nuts have started to burst through the sole at the back only???

basicaly the holder/chassis is falling off at the back as the t-nut has burst the carbon.

clearly its time for new skates as the one90's are now burst open at the back...

so...im looking for new skates...unsure what to buy, i use S15's for ice.

i know that CCM/RBK fit me in a size 9.5 with a great fit.

i liked the look of the roller RBK 9K's that you hade made up and also some guy has some 7k's done...looks sweet.

how are the torspo's really? are they up there with ccm/rbk easton bauer/nike and so on...

any advice and/or tips and so on would be great guy's

thanks in advance

I'm on 9E's with the larger A8 frame. You can't go wrong with them.

Hey Spree, where is this review of the new skates?

I'm in the middle of my season right now, and can't just jump in with them. Why you ask? They are STIFF!!! Baked twice, good fit, but my forward flexion is nowhere near what it is in my 7K ice boots converted with Sprungs. I have been taking them out for public skates in an effort to soften them up, thus far to no avail. Trust me....I want to review them, so as soon as I am confident in how they perform I will be posting up full remarks.

Cool I was just wondering because I am in the process of making a decision on mounting my sprung's on a code carbon ice boot or getting the torspo's with out the wheels and bearings and such. Interested to see how people like that boot.

Torspos are kinda stiff, they performed pretty well so far. THey are a lower boot, compared to my older skates.

I went to a drop in last week, and brought both my torspos and some wickeds i had as backups. Used the torspos for about 15min, and then thought I'd try the wickeds to see what the comparison would be. Was totally sloppy, falling all over the place. Back on the torspos in less than 2 min.

The Torspos are pretty good, but I think you need to bake them properly. I did get a blister on the inner ankle bone, but I think with some heating in that area, it should be pretty good.

Edit 1 July 2008... just thought I'd add another update on the Torspos I got from Keith. The skates felt great last night in a league game, having baked them once before last week's drop in. Although they are a lower cut skate compared to my previous skates, they still felt very stiff and responsive. Heel lock was the best I've had so far, I had to unti the skates almost to the very last eyelet near the toes before I could take these off easily. Feet kinda went asleep on me in the third period, mainly cause i tend to overtighten the skates. I think with the wrap that it has and the support, I'll be loosening them a little in the next skate.

Scored two goals as well... may not be much to some of you guys, but I've been playing D mainly in the last year or so, so this is pretty good. I pinched in for the first one, and actually scored with the sprungs. Got the pass that I tipped, hit the goalie pads and onto my chassis and in... went by really quick and the ref allowed the goal. another plus for the Sprungs!

anyway, the chassis looks and still feels good...i doubt if I'll ever go back to rigid chassis... anyone interested in eframes, vibes or vanguards?

Does anyone with the Torspo's have problems with the cuff of the boot digging into your legs right above the ankles?

Like to know what you did to mold the boot around that problem.

Just picked up a pair from Kieth yesterday, very nice and informative guy. The chassis rocks, wicked cutting, speed, you name it. I just have to get this boot from killing my leg.

Thanks

Interesting...Shift1 had that SAME problem...hmm...

Heat up that area and flare it out. Find something that you can wedge between your leg and the boot and rebake it. See if that helps.

Yeah. Same issues on my pair that I got off of Keith. Still working to soften them up.
