:) With all 76s, the large frame is about the same height as the medium.

:) :) With all 80s, the large frame is about the same height as the medium.

Yep, all 80s!! And it skates like a sickness epidemic.

I promised Joe that I would post the final product of these skates on this thread. So without further adu...My eastons...

DSCN0964.jpg

I also had the chance to see the large frame while I was buying my sprungs. There is a significant difference (IMO) between the medium and the large. I would say a 1.5-2 inch difference in length. cant really comment on the height issue but they looked good. Keep up the good work Keith!

Sweet all 80s sounds awesome, too bad I could never dream of needing a large chassis.

But how exactly do the height of the frames match with both 76s and 80s, all 80s has to be bigger?

The large with 80s is actually a little lower than the medium. It's 2mm lower, still, with the 76s.

The medium will get lower, also, when we're sure of the new pitch and everything.

An all 80 medium is all new molds and I'm not ready to do that, yet.

Just did a search can't find anay info. Happy to be proven wrong. :P

What's the situation like slapping some Sprungs on some ONE90's? Im about to order some for Ice and Im thinking about putting my Sprungs on them come Spring/Summer here If the boots are as good as they say.

PS: Im still having rubbing issues with my bearings Keith, despite following your bearing mounting advice to the letter. Maybe its time I picked up some spacers for them as that's my suspicion on the whole cause of the issue

I'll get some pictures posted today of the large frame next to the medium, and some mounted pics.

By the way, the large is only 3/4" longer than the medium. The 80s fill in the spaces very nicely. Joe wears a CCM 9, and he's going to use them for a while.

It depends on the boot sole. It won't fit on my Type M's, because the sole is built with its curve, which happens to be the same one I built into the medium.

Everybody expecting packages from Sprung will get them as fast as the delivery services can do it.... from Monday. I apologize, for the delay, but unwinding from Taylor never happened with the large showing up. I went from Mr. Showman to Mr. Product Developer, while Mr. Shipper has been locked in the closet, screaming.

International shipping may cost more, because the US Mail has removed International Priority, which was how I did it so inexpensively. Now if there isn't insurance and delivery confirmation, the package gets tossed in the "deliver if anybody happens to give a shit" room. So no more First Class, either. Only International Express left with coverage, and it's a lot more. Very Smart on their part. Make more on the things you have to deliver and don't worry about the stuff you just take the money for and toss.

Aussie joe.. had the same issues too until I threw on some spacers. They spin like no tomorrow now

What kind of spacers? The sprung setup seems like it doesn't need a spacer, but if it would make it spin better, I'd be interested.

You need the floating spacers made for 8mm axles, same as the ones used on Red Star frames where the axle screws into the frame. They will set you spinning.

And Heeerrrreeee'ssss the A80!

Flexlite9-A80.jpg

These are size 10s which are the same as a 9.5 CCM.

Vector10A80.jpg

These are size 10.5s, where the size change would normally take place.

I measured better and the large is .90" longer than the medium.

Here's a size 10 '02 Mission with the medium for some comparison.

My first mounting job. I know it's probably not perfect, but these are my back-ups so it's alright with me.

I love those!!! You could repaint the grind or epoxy some white scuff stuff on em. Unless they make you skate pidgin toed, they look perf. I've seen a lot of painted boots lately. Even PROS! What's the world coming to? B)

Boot looks really small. Is that like a size 6-6½ Mission?

All-white looks nice enough, but if people have painted in any other color than white/black I'd say their mothers didn't give them enough attention...

Could someone get me a picture of these? I'm not familiar with red star frames or floating spacers

Edit - Will these work?BFS-big.jpg

The boots are actually size 8.

It's weird that you mentioned people painting skates any other color. There's a guy in my league with one boot painted gold, and the other silver. He also wears a big gold chain during warm-up  .

Hey Sprungster,

I have a question about the new A80 frame. I really like the idea of using a sprung frame with an all 80mm set-up. I love the older frame with an all 76mm set-up and I am wondering how much longer the 2nd to 4th wheel base(from the front edge of the 2nd wheel to the back edge of the back wheel) is on the A80 with an all 80mm set-up than the 2nd to the 4th wheel base A6 with 76mm wheels?

The Large AKA A80 is .75" longer than the A6 for the designated space, with 80s vs 76s.

Like the medium, the hard turn radius of the large is the wheelbase of the two rear wheels.

Hi Sprungster,

i'm working for the biggest Ice- and Inlinehockeystore in Germany and i'm interested in the sprung system. A fried of mine will go to Vancouver, Canada in the middle of August. I hope he will find the system in a Hockeyshop. I have the NBH One 90 in size 10EE, which sprung size do I need? I Hope he can get one for me, in Germany are thousands of Inlinehockeyplayer but no one wears the sprung system. I hope I will be the first. Maybe you can help. I look forward to your early response.

Greetz from Germany

Thanks for your quick response to my question. Yeah I do understand that the hard turning radius is only the back 2 wheels, but I find most of the turning is the back 3 wheels. The reason for my question was because I want to try the larger A80 frame (with all 80mm set-up) on my skates but I wear a size 8.5 easton/9 Mission skate. Do you think there will be any problems with using the larger frame to accomodate the larger wheels on a slightly smaller boot than designed? Thanks

The mount plates are too wide apart and the heel plate is too wide for a 10 Mission. They won't fit on my Type Ms either.

I'll post pictures of my size 10 Vapors tomorrow. They're about the same as a 9.5 CCM. The plates are too long for them but it worked out OK.

I've been on frames that felt too short as long as I've skated. I think that's the normal feeling for "adequate" skaters with big feet. I think it's also a hidden bonus for Hummer skaters. It's great to have toe and heel. The large A80 on the Vapors is the best skate I've ever been on. The pitch puts you very nicely in the carriage of the suspension.

They fit the 10.5 Vector 10s perfectly, just like they're supposed to. Most of the Canadian boots have an open area down the center of the shank, and the #2 wheel goes right up into it. I had to grind out a .25" long .125" deep hole in the Flexlites. Nothing like a Hummer trough.
