A Good Movie to Rent

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a really good movie to rent. I have seen lots and lots of movies because I love movies, but I am at a loss for what I should get tonight. Go ahead and post any movies that you think are really good so that this post isn't made pointless by me renting something.

I'm in a car mood right now so I'd get..

Fast and Furious 1 & 2 Fast 2 Furious

Gone in 60 Seconds

Days of Thunder

Miracle if you dont already OWN it can never be a bad choice!

Sorry, I guess I'm into deeper movies than those. I have seen Gone in 60 seconds, Fast and Furious 1, and Days of Thunder though.

I would say skip blockbuster and head to the theater. 3 really good ones out now (Shrek 2, Day After Tomorrow- which was awsome for any one whos ever been to NYC, and im seeing the new HP which just came out looks like a good one)

Heh, was already at the theater today and saw the new Harry Potter movie. In my opinion it is the best so far. It has some very good plot and some good dark humor. I like the new director. I also saw Day After Tomorrow last Saturday. Was entertaining but that is about it. Alot of it was way to far fetched, but the acting for the most part was quite good.

So in other words, I want to rent a movie, doesn't have to be a new release. :)

Hmmm... if your looking for something a little philosophical but still plenty funny then I'd suggest The Royal Tenenbaums, American Splendor (a fabulous movie, my fav I've seen in a while), or maybe Lost in Translation.

hmmm ok, I will look into American Splendor. I have seen the Royal Tenenbaums and it was a really good movie.

As I just said in the chat room I am looking for something really good along the lines of Seven, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Usual Suspects, etc.

Dumb and Dumber 2 sucks hardcore, steer clear of that. This girl left Kill Bill over at my house sometime this week, I think I'm going to watch it tonight, apparently its really good.

Kill Bill is amazing. I saw both 1 and 2 and they are both excellent movies. Anything by Tarentino is a must see.

I've always been a comedy fan myself. Spinal Tap, Animal House, Caddyshack, 1941, Blues Brothers, etc... I have trouble sitting through most of the newer flicks for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the other people talking on their cell phones or yelling at the screen.

Please tell me you've watched Office Space. It's a crime if you haven't. Are you into old school movies at all? Casablanca and Gilda are some of my favs.

Almost any Bogart movie is worth watching again. Maltese Falcon is just ahead of Casablanca in my book.

Clerks

you have to watch them in the proper order. I know that's not the order they were released but is the proper chronological order. There are inside jokes that make more sense when you watch them in this order.

Mallrats

Clerks

Chasing Amy

Dogma

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Ive seen all of them. Hilarious movies. I loved all of them. I also saw Euro Trip in the theaters. It was funny but I think only good enough to see once. And of course Office Space. I own it so I have seen it many many times.

I, however, rented Donnie Darko. I have heard alot about it, and in seeing it on the shelf decided I needed to watch it.

Darko's dense so it turns a lot of people off. Lately I'd recommend Equilibrium, Boondock Saints or even the Rundown.

Wow.

Donnie Darko was one of the best movies I have ever had the pleasure of watching. It was so deep. I absolutely loved it. My reaction is difficult to put into words. I just finished it not more than 2 minutes ago and I am still in awe. Phenominal.

Oh yeah. The rabbit is creepy as hell.

I felt that needed a post by itself. Snatch is probably top 3 of best movies I have ever seen. I watch it all the time. Haven't yet seen Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Rushmore and Tenenbaums have phenominal soundtracks, also try high fidelity. SpaceBalls. Robin Hood Men in Tights, Spinal Tap, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Mighty Wind. Kingpin, Real Genius, Ghostbusters, Short Circuit, In and Out.
