I saw the New Jersey Rockin' Rollers play at the Meadowlands. I was like 14 and seeing the game we played outside on basketball courts played in a real arena was amazing.

I have some of those Roller Hockey magazines around... Lots of ads for the Wheel-Hog wheel profiler (I have one in a storage room that still works but none of the damn lathes you use to cut the wheels) and Chandler skates. Crazy

Haha nostalgia is great. I've got a few issues of RH magazine. One with Chris McSorley on the front getting doused in champagne. Another with I think Hull, Jr. using the Labeda Predator chassis (the one with 5 small wheels). Actually the RHI is what got me started on the CCM/Suregrip theme. Back then they were the top of the line. Every skate I've bought since my first Tacks died I've just put the same ol' Suregrip on the boot. I love them. I'll dig 'em up and see if I can't get some scans of the mags and programs.

yeah,i went to a jawz game at the colisium where the islanders play,man i thought roller hockey was taking off back then,i still work at the rink where the jawz practiced,10 years and counting.i thought the rhi was going to be the start of a good pro league.one player- glen metropolit signed with the Atlanta thrashers in july.it would be nice to see him stick around the nhl for a while.

A guy on my team has a predator frame on his boot, and hes an outfield player!

Doesnt use it too much at the minute as its hard finding good wheels for it.

Iceburg, you're right about there being enough source material but the magazine industry is going down the tubes with so much free online content... so thats where a success could be had: An online magazine with reviews and tourney coverage with industry ad content to support it. Past attempts at this have been weak with lousy writing and infrequent updates. If it was done right, it'd be cool.

The problem is getting advertising from outside the community to support it. All of the ad dollars spent by the manufacturers ends up raising the price of the equipment. Having Mission, Tour, Lebeda, etc... spend more means that they have to increase their margins to cover the increase in expenses. The other option is to cut other expenses and that's not very likely.

Iv got a few jerseys from RHI Teams collected over the years & my son often "borrows" a Bullfrogs one to train in ............. that was untill i saw one sell on ebay for $ 230 a few months back !!
