Your all time best Gloves

Recommended Posts

hi! I was fan of Bauer 5000 gloves but too sad for me, it's getting hard to find one.

So, yesterday, I bought Bauer SDP Pro gloves but... it feels somethin' different.(It looks same for me though, that strange, I can't figure what's different!) Well... I think I have to return it and get a new one (different brand or series of gloves) I am thinking getting bauer XXX gloves or RBK stuff. Do you guys have personal best one? Any suggestions?

Yeah, funny when your all-time glove is a current year model.

My all time faves include:

Easton GX 800 Gel

Louisville HG1 (still have a pair, just need palm work)

Easton Z-Air (first generation, still have a pair but they are truly shot)

Easton PLD's or whatever the gloves Sakic used to wear are called. I still have a brand new pair sitting around.

Sakic's gloves seems having long cuff. I prefer short ones

Good calls. I had a pair of the Gels when they first came out. As a matter of fact, they were Brendan Shanahan's from the Blues. Great glove. I also had the first Z-Airs, the only gloves I have every had repalmed.

Currently, I really like my MIA's.

Yep back when Easton made a decent glove.

I see 90% of my teammate using eagle stuff(Fusion or x70). is it good? (I mean is it better than bauer XXX?)

My Eagle Rebel Int.

Small, but they fit my hand like a glove should.. They have lasted 3 seasons now (going into the 4th) and the palms are still intact.

My daughter also preferred a short, tighter fitting cuff and loved her old Bauers. Last year, she lost one glove right before the Provincial Championships.... so we went on a massive glove hunt (tried to borrow or buy used too because she didn't have time to break them in).

I swear she tried on every glove in the city. She got the Vapor XXX because the palm instantly felt so good and fit her fingers perfectly ... it has a wide, long cuff that she wasn't happy with, and a price point that she'd normally balk at... but this was desperation. Originally, she intended to wear a wrist guard to fill in the space, but she didn't like it with her elbow pads and felt it interfered with her movement too much.

Short story, the Vapor XXX glove is stunning in feel with absolutely no break in period. She adjusted to the wider, longer cuff within a few uses. She just loves this glove.

2002 easton z-air gloves. They were great after you cut the horrible kangaroo leather off the composite palm. My pro stock hgts are nice but feel gross. What would a repalming cost and also if I were to cut out the padding flap from the glove what would be a good thing to replace it with? My x6 eagles feel sooo nice if they hold up they could also enter my favorite all time glove list lol.

These old Cooper (BDPs?) that had a Swoosh on the cuff when Nike first came around
