BK 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2006 I would raise hell if that were me.We had a tourney in Alabama last year and we had a stick bag get "lost". My coach's wife was on the phone for hours yelling at them. After all was said and done, he got a few free tickets and $200 to replace the sticks. This is a little different because they lost the entire bag (3 sticks). It was in their computer and was tracked. It got "lost" before it even made it on the plane. Either way, I would put up a huge hissy fit.As for the sizing of your skates, RBK's are a little wider than the vapor line. They fit a little tighter than the CCM tacks line. I would get fitted before making any big decisions (and remember to support your LHS).
Ogie 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2006 Sadly, the airlines are only responsible for $300. It's in the ultra fine print. And now that we can not lock luggage, and now that carry-on bags are a thing of the past(ones with skates in them, at least), this will get worse.Good idea on the homeowners insurance. I used to travel a lot with some expensive dive and camera gear, and that was how I made claims for stolen items.

sabre09923 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2006 that would be great to see someone all in the smelly gear on an airplane.. Except we'd be sweating like pigs and they'd slice my gel packs on my Intake to see if I was carrying any flammable liquids. Business will go down the drain though. Soon they're going to ban laptops from planes, but they will get destroyed if they go down below with the rest of the luggage. Airlines are going to have to improvise, or else, bad things will happen.

In the US, you must be able to unlock it with a TSA master key and a lot of the baggage handlers have them as well. If you have expensive stuff, ship it FedEx or UPS.
