Easton Helmet

Recommended Posts

nothing visually revolutionary, but not bad either.

That bigger vent on the side towards the back seems like good placement.

I think going with a derivitive design when it comes to the helmet looks is probably a good idea for Easton. It doesn't have to be unique to sell, it has the Easton name for that. Unique helmets tend to be disasters (see the Nike Quest and Mission Carbster) regardless of comfort of fit.

I am a little surprised they didn't manage to work something "Carbon" into the helmet whether side panels like the RBK or something similar. I thought that'd be their "hook" (as killthepoodle mentioned) because of their focus on composite technologies.

As far as the tool free fit, this may be just a "pro" mock up and the final product may have sliders. Very interested to see more info as it becomes available...

Here's my take - I have full size pics and while the helmet says Stealth it also says S5 I think...I can't really tell.

However, I blew it up and that helmet's liner is VN. So, it could be a number of things. They could have an EPP helmet as well. They could have a composite shell helmet. Regardless, it's too early to tell.

Thumbs down. Easton Intake. BUST!

Based on 1 picture with no real specs to go on...and zero first hand input from anyone?

Seems a bit rush to judge IMO.

Nice looking helmet to me. The funny thing to me is, the helmet will likely retail for less then some of Easton's sticks. Crazy that something that could actually mean life or death in severe cases would be cheaper then a stick. Certainly not complaining, just find it funny.

I like the way it looks. It looks like a vector and a CCM *52 series/ht2 helmet... but better. The vent lines in the front are exaggerated and streamline and the rear vent is large and well placed... If they offer a VN retail model and it fits well I might consider one.

I just talked to my Easton rep. He said it may retail for $250 but its not finalized. They are waiting for MSH feedback before nailing the final MSRP. Its Easton, you know.

most helmets do retail for about the same or less than the companies lowest price point stick... I'd be willing to bet that they cost a lot less to make too.

It's not bad but maybe Easton written out across the front or Stealth rather than the Easton logo, it seems out of place or too big.

The R D & D on helmets is bucks. Think of all the testing, designs, and do-overs in building a helmet. The costs of making a helmet are not cheap. The idea is to sell billions of them to make it more cost effective per unit on each helmet sold.

But compared to sticks? I would imagine that R & D on sticks are the same if not more than helmets. There's a new line of sticks every year from most companies, helmets are virtually the same for a few to many years.

I just realized that that is lidstrom in the pic...I can't even recognize him without the old school CCM.

Doesn't look bad to me, but a too much similarity to the Intake for my liking.

looks like some sort of honey comb inner shell... any word on that? also looks like the easton logo is set back a good 1/4 inch behind the brim, also looks unique to this helmet only.

Good find - unfortunately my monitor displays dark. I blew up the pic and brightened it. Now I'm not so sure if it is VN...I can see the honeycomb in the vents.
