Whats the hardest you've ever been hit?

Recommended Posts

Team drill: shoot the puck into the corner, go after it, get hit by the D-man.

Coach said is was to pratice hitting and getting hit.

Well I came first, and the D hammered me from behind. Felt like my whole body decompressed, littery felt my ribs were intertwined.

That's the only time I haven't been able to get up by myself and play through it.

But Edge's infamous hit is hands down the craziest hit.

Worst hit I have seen wasn't even at a hockey game. It was in a pit at a hardcore concert, guy copped a winmilling fist to the nose then as he turned a fly kick to the nose again. It was so smashed up it was literally hanging like a piece of jelly. That is until the swelling kicked in.

The worst thing I have seen in hockey was in a A grade semi. We were down by one goal and the other team's goalie starting chatting up his team's success. Needless to say he talked abit too much. Towards the end the puck gets dumped in his end. He let the D and one of our forwards chase the puck into the corner, it spilt out to smart arse goalie and he played it forward. As he cruised backwards our forward (6-1, 115kg) came behind him and axed him right accross the back of the mask. He fell to the ice, motionless. That was the moment I realised my team was full of deadshits and decided to change clubs for good. Best move ever (on my part).

He get a penalty?

This is what I was told happened directly after the guy hit me: for of my teamates that were on the ice at that time gave that kid the beating of his life on the ice, and appearently, none of this guy's teamates defended him. Than the refs ended the game and got both teams off the ice as fast as they could.

In the end, the guy got suspended for 50 games, which at that level was about two full seasons.

I got hit from the side and the next thing i noticed was me sitting on the bench. I got hit so hard and banged with the back of my head right on the ice. After that my helmet had a crack.

At a drop in I was about 12 at the time and I was playing for 2 or 3 years and a much older kid nailled me I flew up into the air and came down onto my back and head and it knocked the wind out of me. I havent really gotten crushed since I have pretty good balance and rarley get caught off guard but with my luck after saying that im gonna get drilled next time im on the ice haha.

I don't know if this counts... but:

Was a AAA tourny in Ottawa, and it was unusually quick hockey for the league. Some games were rough, some were not, really depending on the skill of the two teams facing each other.

We were involved in a really fast and chippy game, when I saw a winger with his head down that had been a hassle all game. Not only was he skating blind, but he was about to receive the most PERFECT suicide pass imaginable.

I meant to hit him, but at the last second he pulled an awkward crossover, and lost balance. I tired to just let him fall, but I build up so much momentum, I simply 'crushed' into him. We both went towards the boards, however, he fell below my chest before the impact, so my head smashed directly into the glass, at FULL force. My helmet cage was totally flattened to contour the glass. I had a serious concussion, and for the game I had not been wearing a mouthguard (won't happen again, ever).

As soon as my teeth collided together on impact, my two front teeth cracked in a sort of pattern that looked like someone had drilled a hole in my smile. After my teeth met, I blacked out. I guess during the fall, the player I hit had his right knee broken.

Game was cancelled and I woke up 5 minutes later or so with an unbearable headache.

Not really a body check, but the worst I had ever felt was when I was down on the ice and swiping at the puck a player from the other team intentionally skated into my ribs with his feet together. Winded me really bad, however lucky for me that was it!

At a tournament, I was back in my defensive zone on a powerplay. The other team was making the change shortly after they iced it, and I went back to retrieve the puck. I quickly skated up-ice and toe dragged around the first defender, and shortly after I gained the zone I got crushed by a kid at least a foot taller and maybe 40 pounds heavier than me. My head hit the glass hard and, unfortunately, my mouthguard wasn't in. I got up, but I felt really nauseated, and my ears were ringing. I continued to play the rest of my shift, but when I got back on the bench, I puked (into the trash barrel of course). I couldn't play until about halfway through the third period, so I missed a period and a half.

Not sure if this was the hardest I have ever been hit, but the results were far worse then any other hit.

I was flying up ice and a two on one. Both of us have a full head of steam. He's a good size guy 6-1ish 220ish...probably more. Instead of feeding the puck across to me he drives to the net and cuts across the crease, head down of course. I cut hard to my right to get away from him. He ends up hitting me almost from behind sending me flying into the boards face first. My face hits the dasher or just below it. Of course I wasn't wearing a shield or cage. The top of my knee hits the lower part of the boards.

I end up in the ER via the ambulance. The rink manager had to call them. To my credit I walked out of the dressing room on my own steam. The doctor comes to look at me and he is so taken back he won't even touch my face....I still haven't seen it yet. He tries a few times then says I have to come back and see a specialist. My GF takes me home....damn my knee freaking hurts. I head to the bathroom when I get home and take a look at myself for the first time. I nearly pass out. I had to grab the sink to hold myself up. My nose is shaped like a Z. It was literally on the other side of my face. If I closed my right eye the bridge of my nose was in my field of vision. One of the bones in my nose broke thru the skin resulting in a half inch long hole in my nose. The face doc said it should have been stitched up.

End result. Badly broken nose, resulting in facial surgery. A concussion, and a really sore knee. Oh, and the purchase of one full face cage.

listen to this, playin mens league this summer, get hit from behind, take the jersey, see him on the ice, level him bigtime. Then, after that, i got a 4 minute penalty, and then a 10, cam back 8 mins left in the third, got 6 points that night. Fights ensues of course, when last play of game, i set up a goal for the 7-2 win,and the guy tries to hit me again, elbow him in the jibs, and then i celebrate the goal. Our fighters came on then, ya thats right, our mens league stacks teams with fighters.

My son was at a rookie camp he being 15 was skating with much older player 16,17,18,19 year olds.

It was 5 mins into their last game he had the puck when out of no were this huge 18 year old comes and smokes him.

He was about 4 feet away from the boards so he flys into the boards feet first.

Whats the damage?

A broken tibia the good thing is that it was a clean break and he healed in 2 weeks and 6 days.

He just got his cast off this past tuesday.

I'm trying to picture a 308 lb guy being able to move at any speed. And if he could he should probably skip college and goon right to the NHL.

The Average NFL Offensive Lineman is 6-5 305. What's up with your buddy?

Yup, hes a big boy.

I dont know how he skates so fast either. I am not fast by any means, but im quick enough to play D. He uses his body a lot to control my pokechecks. He isn't the fastest on the team by a longshot, but imbarassing as it is, hes faster than me.

Back in high school, I got caught with my head down and ran into a guy built like a brick shithouse. He put his elbow into my head so hard that my head stopped moving but my lower body swung out from underneath me and kept moving forward until I was horizontal to the ice about 3 feet in the air. Then I just dropped straight down onto my back.

I imagine it looked alot like a guy getting closelined in professional wrestling.

Ran head on into a guy. Gloves flew off and stick was down the rink. The blade of his stick went into the inner part of my thigh where theres no pants armor and snapped off.

the inside of my leg was purple for two weeks.
